Rock Of Ages flops at Box Office

I saw the movie but was SO disappointed in how unlike the musical it was. Too loosely based! I don't know why they changed so much and had to cut out so much of the humor that had me laughing the entire musical. All I can think is so it fit a more general audience? If anyone gets a chance to see the musical, do it!!

I would love to see the musical-I may have to do that soon!

I saw the movie and, as I mentioned in another thread, I went with the attitude that it was just going to be funny/cheesy and it was. If you go wanting great music and a wonderful story line, you'll be disappointed. If you go with low expectations you'll have a good time.

yeah, and I think that's why I loved the musical so much too! Lots of 80's references and innuendo you can almost miss if not listening closely. Even the shirts they wore in the musical were hilarious, so you should try to sit towards the front. I'm thinking some of those things would have given an R rating for a movie so maybe they were avoiding that? I just dont know. It was just what you said though, a great time! You can't go into a musical not expecting cheese and silliness. Sometimes lighthearted is a good thing!
