You sure about that date? Pretty sure I saw them in late August '06 (opening for Def Lep) w/ SA.

I miss this lineup. I still remember when it first formed. It was exciting. Journey was BACK and the possibilities seemed unlimited.
Then after Arrival, nothing happened.

Yep, Raleigh was the last show. Augeri didn't last more than about 10 dates into the US 2006 tour before his voice finally died for good at the Raleigh show. Everything after that was JSS.

I was there for his last show here in Raleigh on that July 4th. It was just plain awful. If I remember right, he sounded decent on "Faith in the Heartland" opening up, and by the 2nd or 3rd song his voice was gone. Deen sang just about the whole show. Steve would start up and then almost immediately point to Deen to take over. Augeri did sing the closing LTS, and sounded okay.... but everything between the start and the finish was (and I really do love the guy).... awful :)

I don't even remember Faith in the Heartland sounding good. He was incredibly rough from the start, and no backstage remedy was going to help. His voice started coming back right at the end of the show (really after that DSB clip on youtube), but it was too little too late. Very sad. You never want to see someone having that much trouble. Only thing I can't figure out is why that show ever started in the first place. They had to know his voice was gone.

A rock and roll show isn't an inexpensive undertaking... The crew, the buses, the trucks. Canceling shows doesn't just happen. It costs the band big bucks. This was clearly a period where the almighty dollar took president over a man's health.
