i know TMJ dys . sux but wonder how many singers have it?
Know Celine Dion gets it..She has a chiropracter close by..& has shown
it in one of her vids..

Don't know about singers, but my wife had TMJ. She had it so bad that she had to have surgery. She basically had both her top, and lower jaw removed, then placed back into the correct position. It was a HORRIBLE ordeal for us that took more than a couple of years to recover from.

Any singer who suffers from it should suck it up if they're in their prime, because if they're like my wife, it'll be a long recovery time. I wouldn't wish the condition on ANYONE.

I am a singer and have it too. The longest I sang straight through, without a break, was 5 hours. It hurt quite a bit after that. Usually I am OK with a couple hours, longer than that and it is not pleasant.

I've never heard of this thing before. After reading it on here, I read up on what it is on line. I'd say one could also get this by eating too many jujubes. Doesn't take many boxes of these to wear down your jaw muscles, stale ones even quicker.
