Is this the same kid that was peeking out from backstage and watching his dad back on the 2001 Vegas DVD? Man, how time has flown by.

God Damn he sure grew up quick!! Outstanding performance by Kyle there. He's definitely a chip off the old block isn't he? Many of the same mannerisms and nuances in his attack. I noticed Deen's tech went as far as to include the mic when he was gearing Kyle up. That song is pretty Deen-centric with regard to the backing vox and the high harmonies. So, did Deen supply the vox while standing there via a different mic, or did Kyle also contribute to the backing vox while drumming just like dear old dad? I tried to get a glimpse of whether or not he was singing but never did get a clear shot of his face.

Thanks for posting this! It's so cool to see the kids getting the chance to fly the plane once in a while.

I'd love this, but he needs to grow his hair out, but in reality he would never do it. Sincerely, I believe he could front an album. Get cracking!

There are great voices out there, but to tour, one must have stamina. There are voices out there that are probably better than Pineda's. Kevin Chalfant comes to mind, but the rigors of touring would mean instant burn out. I don't think there is a singer out there right now that is vocally and athletically up to the task that Pineda faces almost every night. I've found some Journey-esque singers who sound great in the studio, but they could never move all their "meat" across a stage or be a great front man. The band has made the right choice and the people have voted with their wallets. The tours are filling seats and people are having a great time at these shows. A few butt hurt loons will not change the the current direction or the current success this band is having while touring. In light of that, I think I'll have another beer and the band should continue what they are doing. :D :D :D

That does rock! Good job!! But... "So, did Deen supply the vox while standing there via a different mic, or did Kyle also contribute to the backing vox while drumming just like dear old dad?"

Really? Cmon..it's all computer (midi) controlled backing tracks anyway. ;)

I know they use a lot of recorded backing vocals. But, Deen's are often very noticeable, nonetheless. My guess is that Deen sung off stage, or they did the song without his vocals, that time.

That was great to see. 8)

...and yes, if having Kyle on drums gives Journey the option to have Deen in front
as needed, then it's a no-brainer to have him on some songs regularly. It would be
good for Journey's younger fans to have someone in the band that they can better
relate to.
Definitely off it now...
