A Rock band nominated for more CMT awards than they ever were for any Grammy's. That would definitely mean the end is near for the band, if they won any country awards.

Rock crosses over, as proven time and time again. The country folk seem to have more appreciation for talent these days. Shit sells to the rest of the sheep, ie., bieber, rappers, etc. Think about it! I don't consider this a black mark on Journey at all. It just indicates that that wider audiance embraces their music and if they were younger they could probably be more versatile as a band.

Journey is very well loved in the south. I usually hear one of their songs at least 3 or 4 times a day on the radio. They were big in the 80's here and if you wear a Journey t-shirt your bound to get a thumbs up from a stranger several times that day. DSB is on several of our stop signs in town. No, not from me. LOL I thin you underestimate that some Country fans love rock as well as country. Especially classic rock from the 80's era.

With exception of Lori Morgan doing Faithfully, or Colin Raye doing Open Arms, and I don't know how many other country artists have redone Journey and charted, how often is JOURNEY played on Country stations in the south or otherwise? They aren't a country band.

People here listen to both Classic Rock and Country. I have folks who constantly see my Journey shirt and talk about how cool they are to me. Trust me unless someone listens exclusively to Country music, they are well known here.

I can see why more don't attempt Journey songs...difficulty would be part of it, or if they could do the songs any justice.

People here don't care so much for awards shows...like me they see them as kind of lame. I like what I like and most people that I know here feel the same. I think the Country fans will remember and embrace their music. Seemed like the crowd that night was loving it a great deal...even if according to some their show was not up to par.

I say more power to them, regardless of what award show they are nominated for.

Well, at least they got nominated. I knew nothing would come of it and I voted just to try and help em out. It was kind of a rooting for the underdog thing.
