Is anyone going to shows?

Postby FamilyMan » Sun Sep 08, 2013 5:04 am

Haven't seen this board THIS quiet since I'm coming here. Isn't anyone going to the shows? I admit I took this year off, but it was only because the timing of the tour dates was inconvenient. But I'm sensing burn-out. What's happening people?

I haven't been to a show since walking out towards the end of a show in boredom. That was the second year with Augeri. Was going to see them last year, but ticket prices piss me off.

I really didn't know they were touring the US this year...then all of a sudden it seemed like there are some shows..must be a way under the radar thing.

New music livens this board up regardless of whether or not the majority of us like it and if they play it or not.

New music is essential to keep us interested and keep the band relevant. Cain should well enough realize this and not take digs at their own album that debuted at a respectable #13 and has sold reasonably well for an experimental concept album from an aging band.

Sooooo sorry there wasn't a wedding ballad to give to Blend to play a few times a week.

I agree that new material sparks interest, but in regards to touring:

Yes, their current "tour" has been very quiet and under the radar. I think diehards are tired of the triple bill shows that truncate their performance time. I've said this in other posts, but I also believe that Neal needs to hold true to what he's said recently in wanting to return to "Evening with..." tours and the considerations of performing certain albums in their entirety instead of baiting the fans.

The only exception that I can see with this is the (hopeful) tour with Santana.

I think we're tired of the same dirty dozen shows, for the most part. Nothing really ambitious seems to be happening on stage, as of late. Of course I love Journey and I will continue to see shows that are within reasonable distance of me. Getting me on an Airplane would require something more special.

best of luck to Arnel.. but I'm over him as the singer.. I'd rather pay for Perry.

Good luck buying ticket to that show, sir. When you find some, let me know. I'll be one of the first in line!

Two things I have faith in; Jesus is coming back and Steve Perry.......might. :D

Haven't been to a show since they started turning down. I have seen Boston and Night Ranger since and they were WAY better.
