Thanks for posting. Liked it better when it was simply called Schon. Why not make it Soul Sirkus 2?
"Neal Schon", as a title, is weak. So is the cover art featuring Neal's Jack Nicholson-like grimace.

With Jack Blades helping out and Deen on some lead vox, this record has promise. Why hasn't Blades been brought back to help write more Journery material?

man, no love for "Late Night"?
THAT was a brilliant album. Best of his solo work as far as I'm concerned.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I believe it is coming out on Frontiers. I haven't heard anything other than that.

Still no buzz about this? I thought something with Deen singing on it would have generated a bit more excitement. I know I am eager to hear it. Is it still supposed to happen this month? Neal's home page doesn't even say anything! It looks like a gossip site over there with all kinds OMG! story links. <sigh>

Would like some news about this.

I saw Neal on his club tour. There's no bigger fan of the Rock Dog than I - I've got a couple of Schon guitars circa 1986. But I gotta admit, listening to Neal shred for a couple of hours got pretty boring.

I'm surprised to hear Chickenfoot didn't move units - my perception was that there was as much point of purchase support for this lineup (Best Buy, in particular) as I've seen for any rock act over the last 20 years. Long live rock!

Andrew - what was the reason for moving the 'So U' release from tomorrow to summertime?

Looking forward to this. Sorry to hear it's been moved to summer. But if it means a better end product, count me in. Blades on lyrics, Smitty on skins, Deen on vox, Neal doing his thing....gotta be good.

So they changed the title to "So U"...that's kinda lame.

I'm not , both of their cds were weak at best, given the amount of talent that was put together to record them.

I must be missing something. How do you know it is postponed? I'm not doubting you, I'm just curious where you found out because I've been unable to find any information on this release at all.

Bought the first one. Wow. What a let down. Maybe one or two good tracks. Didn't even bother with the second. Hagar talks so much shit about putting VH to shame. Then ADKOT comes out and it is in a world class of its own. PlanetUS prolly would've been great with Neal on-board to assist with the songwriting. Chickenfoot, however, is overhyped trash.

I have to agree with you here, I also thought that for having the great Joe satriani in this band, it seem like the guitar parts were average at best , I was completely let down by this group. I don't think Sammy has done anything good since he left Van Halen, his cds are just boring but that's just My opinion

I vote for something along the lines of his work in Hardline. Hardline was some of his best work in my opinion.
