She's A Mystery over Resonate or AIP? Can they just not pull these songs off live? She's a Mystery is LAUGHABLY bad. It sounds like some high school band got a little too caught up in its Led Zeppelin influence. No structure to that song at all.

Strongly disagree with this. The song structure might not be radio friendly but Neal & Jon know exactly what they are doing in this tune. It builds slowly until it explodes in a Neal guitar orgy. Journey has done songs with wannabe progressive ambitions and landed on their face (Believe and Butterfly instantly come to mind) but this tune isnt one of them. SAM is a 70s era Journey tune, in the vein of Lights or Daydream, brought into the 21st century. Great example of remaining true to ur sound while also modernizing and not selling out.

Well, that settles it. If a publication of record like "the scotsman" says it, it simply must be the truth!

Hey, when one feels the need to go full douche' bag, and you never go full douche' bag, one finds information to support their beliefs. Korn'holio is no exception. Why in the fuck did he get let back in? Oh, I get it....the forums have become so dead that we need to have the controversial ones, else this will be boring. I guess I can understand that point of view too. Fine with me. ;)

why did they list Arnel's name after SHML...and Jon after SAM...Neal after Lights... Didn't Arnel sing all the songs except M/F, which I know must have been Deen. Hmmm...strange.

And, I agree with Ehmatt... SAM (and Ritual, too) came across really blah...--at least in this show, on the yt videos (imo). I would have liked to see/hear them play Resonate, TDTWT... or even Tantra (my 3 favorite Arnel/Journey songs).

It designates who talks/introduces which songs to the crowd.

kudos for Neal getting snooze fest CoH out of the setlist and the Rocker Ritual in. It sounds great live.
But Shes a Mystery? Five minutes of a nowhere song, and then suddenly erupts into the hardest riffs Journey has ever recorded?
Quoting Neal, I just don't get that song. It would be like Butterfly would have Backtalk;s guitar solo.

Anytime should always be played with Feeling that Way. Is it just me or should Neal sing Rolies parts? Cain has a terrible voice and I cringe when he tries.

Because american audiences have the attention span of a 3 year old. Don't believe it? Watch the Ritual clip. Chicks talking through the whole f'ing thing. Seriously folks, if you heard it, you might dig it, but they don't even give it a chance. Also, JON, ROSS- SELL the song, most haven't heard it so work harder to get it across. Man... just standing there. Deen, Arnel, and Neal, as always- putting it in people's faces.

I like SAM, but live, it too slow. SOMEONE or HUMAN FEEL would be great. Ritual was always one of the best tracks on the album.

Who the fuck cares? Do you think audiences sat enraptured as they band played 'Higher Place' in 2001? or "Faith in the Heartland' in 2005? As long as it's new material, the casual audience will simply tune out. At least SAM sounds different than recent Journey material. For that reason alone, it may pique some concertgoers attention...

yeah, good luck with that. The point is, new (or obscure old) the audience doesn't give it a chance. This isn't just a Journey thing, it's concert audiences period. Great quotes from Jack White:

“People can’t clap anymore, because they’ve got a fucking texting thing in their fucking hand, and probably a drink, too!” he explained. “Some musicians don’t care about this stuff, but I let the crowd tell me what to do. [JUST LIKE JOURNEY DOES] If they can’t give me that energy back? Maybe I’m wasting my time.” Back in 2012 he walked off the stage at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall, reportedly as a result of a lackadaisical audience."

He's RIGHT ON THE MONEY.

Simple solution. Not a new ideal, just simply a forgotten one.
Remember entering venues in the 70's and 80's ?
The search for banned items, before you entered the gate ?
You either left the stuff in your car or you forfeited the
contraband, if they found it...
Unless, you were great at sneaking it in...

Artists say...well the venue won't ban such and such.
Venues say...well the artist doesn't want it banned..
So artists don't play 'those' venues'...
And venues don't book 'those' artists.

Somewhere, down the line...sooner or later there has
to be a compromise.
Fans..go enjoy the music instead of trying to document
ever single word that is sung.
The world it is a-changing...
