Great find, Tater.

When I saw those pics in the other thread with Jackson and Smith, I was wondering if there wasn't some music happening. I wonder if they are making new music with this "New Vortex" or if it only refers to a change up in the touring band.

I sure wish there were more videos out there of Vortex performances.

This is the kind of music Neal loves to play, and these are people he loves to play with. With this project, and the new Santana project......will he have any time, or desire, to tour with Journey?

Jon's got 1 song written for his Faith EP, says 3 more songs almost finished.
Plus his wedding song he wrote for his wedding will be on it.
Poss coming out early next year.

Plus Deen's trial is this month.

Playing "N.S. Vortex" at a rehearsal for the Japan tour:

It sounds good, but hopefully it will get better. I love Randy Jackson, but I think he needs to learn the bass parts Neal laid down on the album because they are good and are part of the song. I also think Neal really needs a second guitarist to fill out the sound. On the album you have the rhythm as well as the high lead. With just the bass it lacks texture and depth and becomes boring. Where was Igor?

According to Smith's website The four NS Japan dates were all cancelled. That's disappointing; I was really hoping to hear/ see some of that. The line up also had Miles slated for bass duty. I thought that was odd, since Randy Jackson was rehearsing with them for those shows.

Anyone know what happened? Maybe just a lack of sales. It is a great album, though.
