It sounds like the song is personal for him. It's not grabbing me personally but I applaud the effort.

I like some of the melody choices. Nice chorus. But overall, I'm feeling a disconnect between the melody and the lyric choices. I'm thinking a better final version of this is possible with more emphasis on finding a better match between the lyrics and melodies. Maybe some added instrumentals to increase emphasis to certain emotional beats, etc. My 2 cents of course...

Anyone know if he wrote this on his own or if he worked with others?

Yup. Excellent tune. It's been out for a while now. Journey shoulda recorded it. I think it's a great track. Add Neil and the guys to it and it woulda been a great ballad for Journey.

Agreed. The band's priorities are all messed up. Cain is doing religious music, Arnel is doing solo stuff....what about Journey?

Add Jon and Neal into the writing mix and have them do "their thing" to it, and yeah I agree. Especially with Smitty on the kit.

Arnel wrote this song. I read that somewhere, when the song, which has been out for awhile, first hit the internet. There was the album version and a live performance with an orchestra on YouTube for awhile. I can't find them anymore.
