Bad English or the Storm

I gotta go with The Storm. I knew that they were probably going to be a one-off band, but they filled the Journey void for me at the time much more than Bad English did. It was also neat to hear what Journey would have sounded like if Gregg had never left.

Gregg's all over the new Santana album. Pick it up if you have not already.

Picked it up last night, but it never made it to my ears....feel a sleep before I even pushed play.

Very 70s...long play...lots of jamming.

Gregg showed he is more than capable of writing and playing that sort of material, but I sense that even now, he would much prefer to be sitting behind the Hammond B3 playing Santana and bluesy stuff.

Sort of like Jon seems much more at home with the later Journey stuff than the Rolie era songs. He can play them, but it doesn't seem to be his comfort zone.

Comparing the various solos of the two guys from different Journey live recordings over the years shows very different styles where they are comfortable. Both great players, just different.

Definitely BAD ENGLISH. I do not care about some of the lyŕics, but the music and the melodies are just great...and i am a big fan of john waite's voice. Two alltine gems in my collection. I eveb love most of the lost tapes songs and still hope some betteŕ demos will be released...
