I don't know who opened for Steve on Jan. 20 in KC but it wasn't Sass Jordan. Some guy and his acoustic.

The Jan 16 Deseret News reported that David Broza opened the Jan 15 Salt Lake City concert, while Navarro attended the Jan 27 show in Buffalo, where Jesse Cook is believed to have opened, although that slot isn't 100% certain.

It probably was one of these artists, although picking one would be difficult, as they both are solo acoustic musicians. Perhaps you can look at their videos on YouTube and see if either one looks more familiar.

The Jan 24 Kansas City Star reviewed the Jan 20 KC show, but searches on "Steve Perry" AND "David Broza," or "Steve Perry" AND "Jesse Cook" come up blank, which may simply mean that the opening act was not mentioned in the review, not necessarily that neither of them opened.

I'll keep digging, but do let me know if either artist rings a bell...

So,

With all of the most excellent input I've received so far, here is the FTLOSM tour as best as I can recreate it.

There are still quite a few opening acts, and at least one venue, still unknonwn, so, if you have any information on those, please let me know. Also, I'm still trying to verify that the San Diego, Jacksonville and El Paso concerts actually took place. And, of course, the ever-elusive dates still remain for the LA pre-tour warmup show and the Puerto Rico concert, which, thanks to the folks here, we know actually took place, probably on Feb 28 or Mar 22.

Thanks, again, for your continued input. My goal is to list every location, venue, opening act and date on the tour. It's looking pretty doable so far!...

Seems like a lot of these dates were one right after the other without too much time in between. Sort of like when he was in Journey. I haven't done the detailed comparison, but if so many nights together without enough rest toasted his voice in Journey, I am surprised that the dates here were not spread out more.

Then again, perhaps he had not made the connection. For that matter, did anyone make the connection of singing the catalog nonstop and toasting a voice until Augeri did it?

Right on Tj! I thought that too and didn't get it. I thought he got that correlation and that's one of the reasons why he wanted a more intimate setting (hence video screens and then FLOTSM tour in mostly theaters instead of primarily arenas) and why he stopped in 1987? In fact, didn't he intimate that as much?
