… In December 2018, deadline. com reported that Warner Bros. will be working with “Crazy Rich Asians” director Jon Chu for a Pineda biopic. The studio has tapped Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen as producer while a search for the screenwriter is ongoing.

Warner is negotiating to license the original Journey songs, written by Schon and Steve Perry, and has acquired the rights to Ramona Diaz’s 2012 documentary “Don’t Stop Believing: Everyman’s Journey” —which depicted Pineda’s rise from obscurity to fame...
Perry's good natured bonhomie & the world’s most charmin smile, knocked fans off their feet. Sportin a black tux, gigs came alive as he swished around the stage thrillin audiences w/ charisma that instantly burnt the oxygen right out of the venue.TR.com

Arnel is great and I am really glad for him, but is this going to make money in the states? Maybe It wont even be released here.
Freddie Mercury, yes, Elton John, yes, both over the top musicians.
I mean, would anyone consider a Steve Augeri BIOpic, going from working for the GAP (and yes I know not at the Gap) to replacing Steve Perry? Ok Maybe I would. :D

The real interesting story would be Perry himself, going from repairing turkey coops to playing stadiums and then leaving it all behind, his brief reunion w/ Journey and his hip replacement and leaving again only to fall in love and give the fans one last album as a promise to her.
