Journey - Animation Question

Postby The_Noble_Cause » Sat Jun 26, 2021 1:28 am

Anyone notice the animation style changes at around 2:20 in the "The Way We Used To Be" video (when we get to the stadium rock show)?
The characters (neal, the couple) go from having oversized looney tunes bug eyes to being drawn in an almost Bakshi-eque rotoscope style. The Bakshi-type style looks way cooler imo. Still a fun video.

Wonder what happened? Did another animation company have to finish it for some reason?

I saw that. Thought maybe it just represented time passing. But it might also refer to that change to 'the way we used to be'...

Yea, I thought that too. But when the video starts - pre pandemic - they don't look like that. So that can't be it.

Weird, I didn't pick up on that the first couple times I watched it. I'd kinda like to know why the shift in style now. lol
