Journey's Don't Stop Believin' and Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody are examples of songs which have been overplayed. Now, I change the station if these songs come on the radio. Bob Seger's Old Time Rock'n Roll used to be overplayed, but now I like it again. However, Bob Seger's "Turn the Page" has taken its place on the overplayed list.

TOTO's Africa or the insipid Weezer cover also falls into this category.

Back in the 1980's when I was a kid, I asked, "Why can't Don't Stop Believin' be the biggest hit song ever recorded?" Now, it is a smash hit and played daily on classic rock radio. I am sick of it now. I guess we have to be careful what we wish for.
