The show itself was held in northern Kentucky (a suburb of downtown Cincinnati OH) at a festival hosted by a small catholic church called St. Cecilia.
In a nutshell, his show was a total disaster. At first I tired to give him the benefit of the doubt and thought that maybe the person running the sound board was screwing up, but it soon became apparent that wasn't the case, and that Mr. Augeri's vocals (or lack of) were the issue.
Before I go any further I want to point out that I respect Steve A. and appreciate his time with Journey. I also think that 2001's Arrival is one of Journey's top 5 albums.
Having said that, Augeri needs to call it a day and hang it up. His voice is completely shot/shredded and his attempts to sing were dreadful. In most cases he held the microphone too far away so the audience couldn't actually hear him sing, but when the mic did happen to pick up his "singing" it was apparent that his voice is toast. His only saving grace was the fact that the crowd was singing along with his backup band. Quite honestly, I was embarrassed for the guy. It was that bad!

Since leaving Journey, he's clearly taught himself how to approach some of these songs differently. Despite the criticism, I've been mostly impressed with a lot of the footage I've seen.

Great time the night we met in person seeing SA. That was a fun show.

Essentially he is just talking through the songs. It does not sound anything like the records. And he has zero energy. It’s atrocious.
