I agree with this. KISS has essentially been on their "final tour" every year for the past 20yrs, or more.

Journey could have went on tour and avoided the Covid thing. It's very, very obvious. They didn't tour because the band is fucked up with no sure lineup, management/no management, single that went nowhere and no CD. They have been winging it, making it up as they go, since the lawsuit was settled.

Those who would be guided by the hysteria being pushed by Rolling Stone wouldn’t have been purchasing tickets anyway. KISS just doesn’t seem to carry a lot of appeal these days. Their gimmicky performances aren’t timeless.

Prior to this residency, Kiss wasn't forced to cancel dates. The question is, "why?"
The covid story is at least a plausible cause and effect. You are just engaging in wild generalizations now.

I think fans don't want to hear Paul Stanley.

The farewell tour was doing fine up until the residency. So what happened?

Uh-huh. Sure.

If that was true, dates would have been cancelled prior to the residency. Something happened. What was it?

If true, this audience fatigue should be reflected in KISS touring revenues in general - not just one suddenly cancelled residency.

Journey did a string of East Coast dates, which is more than some bands.

Just like it was obvious to you that the band would be tied up in court for years (wrong), they wouldn't play Lollapalooza (wrong), and there would be no February tour (wrong).

Perhaps contractually they couldn’t cancel the other dates. Yes you can dig and find that information about the death. It’s not among the first results, and in fact this discussion is the first time I’ve ever heard of it. I know a lot of people who go to a lot of concerts. None of them have ever even mentioned KISS. They’re a washed up gimmick act. Come to terms with that and the answers to your questions will come easier.

It was a big story - and it possibly could have had an impact of ticket sales - especially in an enclosed residency space.
Sure beats your theory of "I hate Kiss. Kiss sucks!"

Their farewell tour has been ongoing since 2019 with stops in virtually every major city. I'm not even a fan of Kiss and I know people who went.
Either way, invoking your # of friends (real, imaginary, or otherwise) is a logical fallacy. Who the fuck cares?

I merely suggested that negative covid-19 publicity was a factor in soft sales, which remains plausible. That is all.

If their bubble has officially burst once and for all, we should see more dates being canceled.

Btw, Kiss' "Farewell" tour started in 2000, not 2019. Lol.

The current "End of the Road" tour started in January 2019.

Call it a big story all you want. The first time I’ve ever heard of it was when you mentioned it, and I pay closer attention to music than most people, so I doubt many casual fans heard about it at all. No one gives a shit about KISS.

Yeah, obviously not.

..so I doubt many casual fans heard about it at all. No one gives a shit about KISS.

By your own admission, you are neither a KISS fan or an informed newsreader.

If you are correct, we should expect to see many more suspended KISS dates or cancellations.

I saw that several more shows were cancelled outside of the residency. So OK.
