No, they are not being "showcased". THAT is Journey. Well, actually, just Neal and Jonathan are Journey. Everybody else are just employees of the band, including Arnel.
Why does it matter? Well....After the Bill Graham tribute concert, Neal did an interview. He said that even though that was the last incarnation of Journey; Steve, Jonathan, and Neal, that he did not want it called Journey (for the Bill Graham concert). That Journey had always been; Steve Perry, Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, AND Steve Smith, AND Ross Valory. The emphasis in the "AND" was in the article.
Funny how that emphasis has died and been replaced by an attitude that Journey is whatever Neal decides it is.

That's bullshit. You mentioned NOTHING about Neal's attitude towards what was "Journey" back in the early 90's after the Bill Graham tribute. You did not point out how that attitude has now changed into Journey being whatever Neal says it is. THAT is an answer to YOUR QUESTION about why it is upsetting that Journey is now reduced to a duo with rotating members, like some classic rock version of Menudo.
And, to further expand on my answer, Jon did a Force interview about Bad English after they broke up. In part of it, he said that all John Waite wanted was to be a rock star. Go look at the bullshit that is the new profiles on the Journey website and tell me that Neal isn't afflicted with the same bloated ego that John Waite had.
Jon also said that he knew what it took to be in a BAND, that a band has a fate, a life, an existence...and in the end, IT died (BE's life and existence). It seems to me that is EXACTLY what is happening to Journey. Journey has been diluted down to making one man happy and everybody else hanging on for the pay checks.
Finally, Neal has said since Herbie's death how much he learned from him. Bullshit. Herbie wanted a close knit band that treated each other like family, modeled after the Grateful Dead. Journey is a cut-throat enterprise that fires players, sues players. After firing Ross and Steve Smith for ROR, Herbie said he made sure they got paid. While firing Ross and Steve Smith, Neal SUED THEM at the same time because he did NOT WANT TO PAY THEM...and then insulted their time in the band by saying they contributed nothing of significance. Journey is far away NOT what Herbie wanted them to be. Journey is NOT being run like Herbie did in the 70's and 80's.
THAT is what is frustrating to me.
Trust me, I'm not the one full of shit.

You wrote a note and I answered it. You reply saying I can't read. So, I say that's bullshit and further expand on my points. Now you say I am bitter and full of shit.
Perhaps you should not ask questions you don't really want to know the answer to. Just because you can accept what Neal has turned Journey into doesn't mean that everybody does.

Here is where the rubber hits the road! In the upcoming tour, Journey must do a real tribute to Herbie. They CANNOT just say, "And now we dedicate this to Herbie because he never stopped believin' " and then launch into Don't Stop Believin'. That is lame and NOT a true tribute. If they ever really cared about him, they have do something real in his honor at every show on the upcoming tour. One idea would be "Livin' To Do." I think that song would be perfect, but if they have a better idea, go for it.

I didn't ask you any question. So stop acting like the world revolves around you. It doesn't.

You have absolutely no authority to tell anybody how to act, or not act. You are just a peon like everybody else. I'll do what I please, until Andrew says I crossed a line.

I agree, if there was going to be any kinda tribute, it would have happened already....or at least been announced. The most we can hope for is some type of new song...like Neal did for Bill Graham on the Hardline album.

Which song on the Hardline album was about or dedicated to Bill Graham? That’s a desert island album for me. Others might be Dawn Patrol, Infinity and Live in the Cook County Jail by BB King, for what that’s worth. That’s probably another thread
