I bought this on a King Biscuit Flower Hour CD about 25-30 years ago at a record collector's show. I don't know if it was a legit release but it was a gem of a find at the time. I also think this may have been Steve Smith's first performance with the band. Thank you for sharing the link.
I did not know they released it on CD. What I understood was that it was only released on reel-to-reel...because this was before CD's. If you didn't know, what KBFH did was to send these to radio stations to play at whatever timeslot. They even included a timesheet as to what song or interview was happening and how long, and where commercial breaks were scheduled. I used to have multiple copies of the Houston Escape concert (same as the MTV show, but a few songs cut)...but gave the extras away...there are so many of those.
There also used to be "Monsters of Rock" shows that would do the same thing. Journey has two of these on vinyl...I think it's Frontiers and ROR shows. I bought both of these via mail by the same vendor. As a "bonus", they gave the KBFH Escape CD, which I already had a couple of already.
