The same can be said but even more so about Generations. I've never considered it to be that badly produced.
I'll say this also. Lots of times when I'm listening to a new album for the first time, or even the first several times, I tend to think that the vocals are buried in the mix. But after I get to know the album well the vocals never seem to be buried in the mix to me anymore.

I agree about Red13 (and Arrival) not sounding that bad. The big complaint I have about Generations is Augeri's vocals sound like a cassette dubbed too many times to where you get that "shhhh" whenever he does an 's' sound. It's really annoying to me.I'll say this also. I listened to "Rockin' Horse", just to compare...and John Waite's vocal is right there in the center of the mix, loud and easy to hear. That song really puts this one to shame, IMO.

I agree with this, too. Hagar would sound good on this.

My wife says from the kitchen "Dang, sounds sexy, that's JOURNEY??". It's cool to hear Journey rocking out like this and Arnel's killing on it to me. To each their own, I guess. The production... yeah, reverb heavy for me, but to me, this is the best of the 3 new tracks. Loved it.

Let it Rain has nothing to do with Edge of the Blade. The former is a throwaway track with a terrible production, the latter a minor masterpiece in its vocal execution by Perry and general build up / arrangement. No comparisons.
