This is what Journey could sound like right now. With Steve Augeri on vocals. It sounds incredible. Did I miss a post or something? I can't believe I found out about this somewhere else.

Sounds very promising, but nowhere near as commercial as Journey. The project is being discussing in the Tin Soldier/Augeri thread. I want more info on this project.

Underworld facebook page just started yesterday. Steve just started promoting yesterday as well. nice to hear him doing something different. there are soundcloud clips up on the page.

I think the sample on the Facebook page sounds reminiscent of Rush. I wish Augeri could sound like he did in Tall Stories days, because he was such a good singer then. I just can't seem to get into his singing much after that, unfortunately. I wish he could be a great singer again, because he really loves doing it, is a nice, humble guy with a great personality and I like his stage presence....but his vocals always leave me wanting better.

I am REALLY loving the clips so far... Heavy on the 70's prog vibe. While I can hear shades of early Rush, I also hear nods to early Styx, The Who, Genesis...

And even though Steve may not have the same high-end he had years ago, he sounds so much more relaxed and natural here. He sounds like he's not trying to be anybody else but Steve Augeri, and he sounds pretty good to me.

Really looking forward to hearing more on this.

I don't think his voice could hold up to that stress anymore, Matt. He does sound great here though, doesn't he? I'm glad he's singing that well again.

Augeri talked about it in one of his recent interviews. Sounds like it was one of his first projects after leaving Journey. But it's dead in the water, according to him. I'd buy it!
