But I've never seen anything negative from Waite and about Neal, although he has expressed or at least hinted at his distaste for Cain on more than one occasion. I agree with your thoughts on a true blues album and I don't think Waite is the right kind of singer for that. In fact, outside of the type of performance he gave on his live cover of Whole Lotta Love, I'd never have imagined that Neal would be interested in him singing on a blues rock album. I think Neal may have just brought up Waite to pick at Cain.
Where Neal missed the boat was in not doing a full album with Beth Hart. I wonder if Neal and Beth's "I Wanna Know You" was what inspired Joe Bonamassa to go on to record three albums with her.
Waite was heavily influenced by Paul Rodgers and The Small Faces and a lot of R&B bands. So I think that he could do well on a Blues album. But Jimi Jamison probably could have done a better job than Waite?
I just discovered the other day that Jimmy Barnes and Joe Bonamassa remade the Jimmy Barnes Blues song "Too Much Ain't Enough Love" that Neal Schon had originally played on. Schon was awesome on that song.
Anyway, NEAL, if you read this, please think about recording a Blues album in the style that I described above!
