Journey/Def Leppard Set List

Postby JourneyHard » Mon Jun 03, 2024 2:51 pm

I am NOT the one who has Journey touring with Def Leppard. But since they are, Journey needs to rock. This should be their set list: 1. Chain Reaction 2. Escape 3. Where Were You 4. Lights 5. Only The Young 6. Be Good To Yourself 7. Line of Fire
8. Faithfully 9. Come Away With Me 10. Don't Stop Believin 11. Holdin On 12. Lovin Touchin Squeezin 13. Wheel In The Sky
14. Stone In Love 15. Separate Ways 16. Any Way You Want It

There's room for only one ballad if you are going to tour with Def Leppard. You should tour with Styx and then you can play as many ballads as you want. This is supposed to be a rock show! Journey needs to rock!

At this point I don't think the set list makes much difference and it really doesn't depend on who is touring with them. They could even have fun with it and say something like, "We're going to get the ballads out of the way in the next few songs..." and then do, "Lights" "Stay Awhile", "Open Arms" and "Faithfully. Then on with the rest of the set.

And, no need to bore the audience with Freedom songs.

From a personal perspective, I disagree with you on that. I would love it if they were to perform some songs from the album.
Right now is probably the last time that they might perform songs from the album?

As a fan, I really have no advice for the band at this point. They will continue to play the stale dozen night after night. The band sounds good and audiences love to hear it.

I would like to see a Rolie-era medley in the set. Embrace that era!

Right now I am excited that Jonathan has a new single ready to go. Hopefully they end up doing an EP or something.

They aren't going to stop playing the ballads just because of another band on the ticket. That would be stupid. They are going to do what they always do and what's working for them.

Honestly, Journey only needs to keep doing exactly what they've been doing since 1998 because it's working for them.

This is not their 1st or even 2nd time touring with Leppard. No need to change what has worked for them, no matter how much “we” would like it.

Side bar: Def Leppard just dropped a new single today. Nothing special in my opinion, but they are putting out new music.
