All these years later, he still sounds good. I don't care what anyone says, as much as I like Augeri, Cain/Schon royally fudged up not going with KC.

This has been talked about here before. I believe what Herbie said was that he could see the same type of dynamic developing with KC as happened with Perry because KC would fight for himself and his ideas. In other words, he would not just roll over and do whatever Neal and Jonathan wanted. I don't remember the exact context of that comment but I think it was making a comparison to Augeri and his 'nice guy' demeanor...and that seemed to be more what Neal and Jonathan wanted at that time.
What I don't think Herbie was saying is that KC was not a good fit for Journey or that he would have been a 'bad' choice to replace Perry after TBF.

Was disappointed not to see Smith with them, but that all went away when they started playing. I was really hoping for the Chalfant led Journey while Perry continued on his solo path. I think we would have gotten much better music from both camps for a while.

You are very much welcome. Kevin will remain the one that got away. It's a shame.

For anyone who doesn't know (or remember) Mickey Thomas took some Arrival cuts and used them on his Over the Edge album.
Here are some:
Surrender (Schon/Blades): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-i4xGt9a4wk
One World (Schon/Blades): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KklpB5Q ... rt_radio=1

Most of this should have found its way onto a proper follow-up to Arrival. Would have helped Generations.

I don't hear any of the range or the soul required for the Journey catalogue, at least in the YouTube clips provided. I do have The Storm CD somewhere and quite certain I never played it more than once.

You have previously said that vocal coach fraud, Ken Tamplin, should replace Arnel. So you'll forgive me if I don't take your opinion seriously.
Kevin had the range and the soul and then some.

Yeah, I don't get it either. KC has more soul than Arnel does, IMO.
I can imagine Perry doing this back around the Street Talk days:

And, no soul or range? Come on now:

Do you think Jeff isn't there because he, like Kevin and Perry, has strong views / convictions? Just wondering.
