WTF???

Postby Line Of Fire » Sat Jan 22, 2005 1:34 am

Why, after over 7 years of Augeri, is there still so much heated debate over "Perry vs. the rest of Journey"??

Geez! Let it go! It's over! I LOVE Perry-era Journey...always have & always will! But, Augeri is in the band now...not Perry. Journey now is just as good as Journey then...I've seen them live twice with Augeri and BOTH times the crowd LOVED him and the band!

They'll never be chart-toppers again...the music business is too fickle these days...but they'll continue to make good music and put on a fantastic live show! Either enjoy it or shut the hell up!

I'm sorry to be so harsh, but I LOVE Journey, and I know everyone else here (even though they argue w/ each other) loves Journey too! Let Journey be what it is and either enjoy it or move on!

Can't we all just get along?

There seems to be some warped belief with many posters (not you, I enjoyed your post) that if you liked Perry you have to hate Augeri and vice versa.
I think Augeri was a great replacement for Perry and will continue to see Journey live for as long as they continue to tour. As far as the music, the sound is better than ever and I loved Arrival, though I can't say the same for Red-13.
Looking forward to the new release!

I disagree with the "vice-versa" part. I think Augeri-era Journey fans are (alot of times) too defensive. (But I don't think there are too many people that "hate Perry".) Many of them are just tired of all the drama. Some of us still enjoy a good discussion. Some posters take it too serious, some of us don't let it bother us. There are all types.

I understand the love and adoration for his talent. I only have a hard time understanding the attacks on Augeri in the name of a man who made his decisions and seems to be happy living with them.

There is nothing wrong with criticizing Augeri...he has his moments, just like Perry. I see nothing wrong with criticizing Perry just the same. I only have a problem with the constant comparisons and belittling comments. And yes, they go both ways. But most of the time I think everyone is rather well behaved again. We'll see if it lasts. But with each year that goes by it seems the arguing dies down a little more.
