Thanks for posting this, LAWoman! Especially liked this Neal quote:

"I’ve been in Journey my whole life. I’m the only member of the band that’s been on every Journey record, so it’s not like I’m going anywhere. I have no reason to completely give up ship and say “I’m moving on.” But I definitely felt it was time for me, in my career, to do something more, guitar-wise, where people can see what I have to offer."

Neal is very versatile; a real musician. So many different CDs from which to choose when it comes to Neal.

I like these Neal quotes:

"I’m still doing what I love to do. I do it because I love it. It’s not for any other reason. I’ve got passion. "

Talking about the aftermath of Planet Us:
"When they went back to Van Halen, I was pissed off and disheartened by the whole situation. But then I went “You know what? I ride motorcycles. I rode dirt bikes as a kid. I fell off them. And you get back on, even when you’re bloody.”

"Everything happens for a reason. We were supposed to hit the road a long time ago, and Soul SirkUS got delayed. And delayed. This happens, that happens – everything fucking happens. But everything happens for a reason."

"I love Jeff Beck. Out of all the guitar players that were my heroes in the old days, he’s the only one that’s around still really kicking some major ass. He’s getting better year after year. He is the shit, because he keeps on recreating himself. He does not repeat himself. It still sounds like Jeff Beck. He has not lost the fire, and he is in his sixties now, man. That’s what I’m modeling myself after."

:?:

I agree with them it was a good read. That doesn't make them or me blind mice. Palliating Perry's absolutely reprobate actions no matter how indefensible (firing two members, putting band members lives on hold twice, lying about his "injury", demanding Herbie's firing, making a crap album with ROR) makes you a blind mouse.

Why is it that everyone on here can honestly critique music or shows (be they Augeri or Perry-era) except for you 4 or 5 Perryheads? Why do all your posts consist of either ragging on current Journey or fawning over Steve Perry- why is that? How come there is no middle ground? Anything associated with the current lineup is flamed into the ground and anything with Perry is automatically taken to be golden. Posters and I have discussed Augeri tracks that rock and ones that suck and likewise, we have done the same with Perry. No such occurence with you guys. It's one train of thought all the time around here-Perry is perfect and the new lineup is utter crap.
Why do you think that is?
-Could it be that none of you are actually objective melodic rock listeners but rather zombified zealot practioneers of blind idolatry?
Nah, couldn't possibly be that.

Frankly, you people scare the living shit out of me.

I've often wondered that myself when it comes to many bands that feature new personal. I have my preference of which one I like more, but continue to listen to the band and enjoy. I've had the pleasure of seeing SP twice (sans Journey) and Journey 6 times and I enjoy it. I listen to Arrival more then any other SP Journey album, well maybe ROR gets more spin time.

The_Noble_Cause wrote:..making a crap album with ROR) makes you a blind mouse.

I quite enjoy ROR actually, it was my first Journey album, while lacking in power and balls of say Frontiers or Escape it's not that bad. Or am I just insane?

Hell in the end I'm just gadl they are still around making music and touring.

It wasn't, but that doesn't in any way preclude me from stating the truth of the situation; HOTS had the audacity to call people "blind mice" when all they did is express their enjoyment of an article. Meanwhile it is her and you who are the blind mice; brainwashed myrmidions coming here day in and day out, bashing the current lineup, all under the guise of "celebrating the Perry years" or "having a respectful, dissenting opinion".
My ass.
You're here for no other purpose but to provoke current fans.

perryfaithful wrote:It is YOU who keeps bringing him up!!! brother.......

Wow.
I'm sorry.
I didn't realize I was not allowed to mention Perry's name.
Does your fanatical obssession truly go so far that you think you have sole ownership rights to the name, "Steve Perry"?
Knowing you, I wouldn't doubt it.

Repeat after me guys. This thread is about the interview and ones view of it. I feel that it had about as much class as breaking wind in church.

Of course you all enjoyed it. So did I. A bit of an eye opener I'd say.

Fair enough, however, interjecting and calling two people "blind mice" without any corroboration of any sort, doesn't shed any elucidating light about ur particular view of the interview, that's just foundationless derision.
Care to elaborate a smidge?

I don't know about blind, but I'm not deaf and this is about music. To each his/her own. If someone wants to find the negatives in anything, no matter how positive it is--knock yourself out. What a depressing point of view of life. Pardon me, but tonight is the debut of the SS tour and today is, therefore, a very, very good day.

The answer...you can leave it at that

......and thanks for calling me a blind mouse..like where do you get off calling people names and telling them HOW and WHY they think WHAT? You're creating issues that aren't there. However I guess that makes sense, for when there isn't Perry to discuss here the place just dries up!! Isn't good for you anymore huh?????

Oh I dunno..maybe because I was responding to one of you Perry thugs who was calling JRNY fans names, saying that they are all "blind mice" for enjoying an interview or did you just choose to ignore that part?

perryfaithful wrote:However I guess that makes sense, for when there isn't Perry to discuss here the place just dries up!! Isn't good for you anymore huh?????

Sorry. Try again.
Nobody was discussing Steve Perry. Re-read my post. I was citing HOTS' history of posting on this board (it just so happens, they all involve Perry).
-To refute her baseless labeling of certain Journey fans as "blind mice" I cited her pathologic & consistent paliation of all of Steve Perry's wrongdoings on this board. This was done to prove that if anyone is a blind mouse it is really her. This was done NOT to shift the focus to Steve Perry but rather to counter HOTS's baseless claim that JRNY fans are blind mice for enjoying a Neal Schon interview. I assure you, that if I wanted to discuss Perry, I would start my own thread on the man.
I merely mentioned HOTS's indiscriminate and unconditional endorsement of Perry's actions (no matter if they are good or bad) as proof of, that in all reality, she is actually the blindest mouse of all.
Sorry that apparently went over your head (however, to tell you the truth, I am not suprised in the very least).

Duh.

Umm, hello?
I just explained this to you already IN DETAIL.
I am not arguing about Steve Perry.
I just used HOTS's constant and unconditional extenuation of ALL of Perry's actions, as an example, serving to show that it is you Perry-wackos that are the blind mice around here. If you don't get that by now, I don't know what else to do for you.
Hooked on phonics, anyone?
If you are here as you claim, "to celebrate Perry!", then why don't you go start a post about him and stop badgering me, attempting to catch me in some nonexistant hypocriticle imbroglio?
Give it up, lady.
Clearly you have less going on upstairs than even Terry Schiavo.
Quick!
Someone, anyone, for her own sake, pull the plug on this bit@h!

I don't think that TNC can get much more dumb Neal Is God. He's just trying to cover up an inferiority complex with his anal writing. How intelligent could someone be to make the reference that he did about pulling the plug?

Anyway, he wasn't one of the three blind mice that I was referring to so it's none of his business. I suspect that he is more the skunk type with a yellow stripe down his back.

I am NOT blind, NOT a mouse, and NOT interested in your sick agenda here. It's tired, old, and boring, just like guess who. 220, 3, carbon copy.

A-G-E-N-D-A...you have asked them several times to start a Perry thread and post their thoughts, discussions, etc. THERE. They don't.....They have an anal need to disrupt constructive talk because they know it's over except for the warped CDs they own.
