Andrew, I Have A Question?

Postby PROPERRY » Thu Jun 09, 2005 9:04 am

I was reading your news board & came across a paragraph, "In The Cut" & saw the name Steve Perry. Is this the Steve Perry from Journey OR another Steve Perry that contributed to the song writings???

Allow me to step in and help (if I can) since Andrew is a busy man...

From the front page of melodicrock.com

"In The Cut is a solo step from Philip in a straightforward melodic rock / AOR direction and features also the songwriting contribution of such luminaries as Stan Bush, Jim Peterik (Survivor, Pride of Lions), Mark Spiro (House of Lords, Bad English), Bobby Barth (Axe) and Curt Cuomo (Kiss, Steve Perry)."

The reference is to Curt Cuomo, who has written with the likes of KISS and Steve Perry. I am certain this is "our" Steve Perry because he is the only Steve Perry with real name recognition. If this were the Steve Perry of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies then I doubt the name would have been used...

Still a guess on my part, but a fairly educated one. Wasn't Curt Cuomo a writer on Street Talk?

NOPE< I answered my own question! BILL Cuomo wrote with Steve on Street Talk and the Against The Wall sessions. So I do not know who Curt Cuomo is at all...

OK, I give up....ANDREW?? :D

Thanks for answering the question :)

FYI - Curt is a LA based songwriter/producer/musician who has a knack for great quality melodic rock having worked with the likes of Eddie Money, Survivor, Stan Bush and a host of others.

Most things he is involved in have a strong chartacter.

Haha...goood Q...bugger knows, I can't find anything!

Perhaps this is a bit of bad research by the label, as they might be getting Bill and Curt confused. Let me check...

Seems that might be a Label error....Looks like Curt hasn't worked with Steve.
