Augeri Fans

As promised, I am not bashing Steve.

My question is this... There is a 16 page post on another site sending positive vibes to steve until he COMES BACK. Don't you think those people are going to feel like idiots when the announcement is made that Soto is in and Augeri is out?

Or are they so delusional that they actually BELIEVE the decision is still up in the air? Will they say "Well, I guess he never got better"?

Also, do you think the Mods at other sites KNOW what the situation is, they just can't say anything? I keep seeing them post the release from a few months back and saying "This is all we have from the band".

I seem to think certain people know (CJ), but just can't say anything.

hey knox!! i bet the thoughts they will feel is not one of being an "idot", just of huge disapointment,, "they" dont deserve any of this.. most of those folks love augeri,,, have pics and emails from him,, they supported and became true fans of the band through him... and now the official site tells them nothing.. that site, and augueri, and the band has become a large part of their lives... and yet the band doesnt seem to care about them.. i give my support to "them", they get nothing there, even andrew busted out the JSS news to them through our site,,, i feel bad for them and hope they never feel like idiots,,

I think they're kidding themselves and I think that when JSS is sworn in, a lot of fans will be super pissed.

Well just think how the poor Mets fans felt when Piazza got traded........they held out hope that it wasn't true. It's the same thing.

The band is a business, I am the consumer buying their product. If they decide to change the product, then I as the consumer will have to decide if it is still something I want to buy. Eight years ago I did, because it was the same product but "new and improved", and I liked it. Haven't tried the "temp" version of the product yet, so I can't comment on it.

And yes, I hold out hope that Steve will be back better and stronger.

I liked what Augeri did in the studio but I am in no way an "AugeriHead" or needing a "Wiggle" every day...
But I, too, feel really bad for the Journey fans that are REALLY BIG Augeri fans. The support they give him every day is astounding and very commendable. I just think they are in for a big let down (not from Steve but from the Band) and I wonder how many of them will just jump off the Journey Machine altogether if he is "officially" replaced?

1) I feel bad for Augeri more than his fans.

2) I feel bad for his FANS, but not the obsessive nut jobs that find an old post from Augeri and start responding to it again.

3) I don't know who exactly the moderators are...meaning their connection with the band, etc. My guts says that someone like CJ must know something more.

4) I am in total shock how someone can think that a band who replaced THE VOICE, would replace his adequate replacement.

5) It is possible that the band doesn't need to say anything. That they would welcome Augeri back if he were healthy, but know that he will not be healthy enough to ever return.

6) At first I just assumed they were embarrassed by the Lipping accusations and there must be truth to it, however, I am now starting to worry that there are more substantial health problems. I really hope not, and would like to know.

7) Augeri kept the Journey going, but its JSS's turn.

I do not think they 'believe' he is coming back so much as they 'hope' he is. They're not being idiots, they're just trying to be optimistic.

Also, it's only been about a month since he left... maybe you can start calling them 'idiots' after more than a year of hoping he'll be back...

I am starting to feel bad for those fans as well, reading your replies. They really do think he is coming back, yet neither he nor the band are telling anyone anything.

I know Steve is probably under a Gag Order, but the band "entity", Augeri included, really are short handing those fans.

Can't say I am surprised, though. Maybe they feel that the longer they are silent, the better the chance of it all just going away.

They might be right...

Gag order my ass. He's just not dignifying it. Why the hell is JSS "allowed" by those Hitlers Neal and Cain to post here, at the origin and epicenter of the storm? Why would not be subject to a gag order as long as his tunure lasts?

Or it could just be they really didn't slap SA w/ a gag order, and that SA just doesn't feel he owes ANYbody more than the official Journey statement. It could be that Schon/Cain don't care too much about what us losers type and don't mind one way or other if Jeff is cool enough to come on here and give us the time of day.

I work w/a a huge Augeri fan...a fan of his before Journey & maybe not so much of a Journey fan unless he's in the band. As I understand what she said the other nite to me...she's a member of his official fan club...very tightlipped about the fan club tho so I don't know what or where it is. She understands he won't be back for this tour but ONLY bcoz she called the place that sells the 5 star tickets (i love all access?). They told her he would NOT be back this tour & issued a refund. She said their is NO other official word. She swears he is coming back to the band after this tour. She also said he's 'on the mend'. When I asked where she heard this she clammed up. She got very POd at me talking about tapegate to the point I thought she would hit me if I said another word. She swears it is all made up by Perryloons to destroy Augeri. If she is a typical augerihead I would have to say they really believe JSS is temp. I will ask her tonite about the extended tour dates & see what she says. I don't expect a change in attitude tho.

They might, but they shouldn't. If somebody lies through their teeth it reflects worse on the liar than the recipient of the lie I think.

Sounds like she is the one who is a loon when it comes to this issue.

Look, I didn't want to believe it, either, the first time I learned about it. However, I also don't believe it occurred to the extent that Deano says it did. He claims the Indianapolis show I went to last year was all lipped. I was there. I was in the lawn section where you can hear all the parts with clarity, without all the noise that occurs closer to the stage and under the pavilion section. Steve didn't sound good at all for most of the concert and only adequate by the end of it. No lipping there....UNLESS the tape they were using also had a bad night. :wink:

I hate to bash BT cuz I still like going there but...
This thread is just another reason why it is going so downhill over there. I want to know why we can't "speculate" and discuss what might or might not be going on with the band and Steve.
Of course, it swayed towards Steve not coming back (again, like uttering the C-word in a convent) and, at least after I got my warning in, it was LOCKED.

Probably just the subject/speculation. I've had a couple of threads closed over there for asking if the band is ever going to publicly comment on this whole situation.

My guess would be this. Augeri is NOT allowed to surface publicly until after the tour and I'm sure he's being paid handsomely to stay hidden. They're not going to do anything to derail this tour. Look at the amount of "Sold Out" dates. On the other hand, JSS is here to promote Journey, mingle with the fans and say answer a few questions. Remember they were off for two weeks. I bet JSS will not be around nearly as much now. Also, JSS picks and chooses which threads he responds to, knowing not to comment on anything REMOTELY controversial. He's here to promote the band, fill seats at gigs and put more money in everyone's pockets. Plus, he's a great fuckin' guy and enjoys fan feedback. Anyone who saw him with SS knows when the show is over he likes nothing better than to grab a cocktail (Grey Goose in Chicago) and talk to fans.
