Predictions....

Postby Saint John » Sun Nov 05, 2006 8:41 am

What plans, if any, do you think Steve Perry will announce on Uncle Joe's upcoming interview. My prediction is that he will announce he's been recording new music and it will be out this Spring. He'll also be a bit ambiguos when talking about touring. We'll also learn that he might be teaming up with another artist or group. He'll go on to mention how much he misses his fans and that he'll see them in some capacity this summer. What does everyone else think?

I am not speculating, not even predicting anything. I will wait until the show airs. :D

Hey there St. J....

Few of my own observations:

1. He mentioned something about not being tied down to a Label....to which I say, "BRAV-OH, Man!!!"
This keeps you out of the "evil clutches" of those in the Biz that dissed your 2nd Solo Album....apparently, you didn't sound enough like "Steve Perry" to warrant an album? Please.

2. I really don't CARE ONE IOTA IF HE TOURS!!! I just wanna HEAR NEW STUFF, DAMMIT!!

3. Utilize the New Technology for all it's worth - downloadable singles; etc.

Come on, you know the routine...
"yea, I've been writing a lot lately... getting that itch to get back out there... spending some time in the studio..."

Maybe Perry needs some sessions with Dr Phil.

I'd buy an ROR tour DVD. Wouldn't the rest of u?

I bet a new CD by Steve would sell like hotcakes. I would kill for that! Whatever he does is fine by me. He's already given me so much wonderful music to listen to that I'll never get sick of. I'd love to hear him sing again for sure. The man has a voice that will never be replicated & a manner of singing that grabs all my heartstrings. There's just no one else like him.

He will say that he is still "thinking" about singing and talk about some re-issues.

I hope I am wrong, but you know I am right.

No predictions from me either.
All I ever hope for with him though
is that he sings again, and that if he
does he will still enjoy it.

I had the radio on in the back ground earlier this week while doing some work at home..The DJ mentioned that Whitney is doing a duets record soon..She mentioned a few artists and Steve was one of them..I don't know if was wishful thinking or something more concrete..I wasn't paying real close attention..

I think he'll say he's been recording.

Not sure why I feel that way. Maybe because of all the buzz lately, maybe it's part wishful thinking.

Even if he has been recording, I won't expect to actually have a new cd from Steve until I have it in my hot little hands.

Whatever he has to say, I'll be listening.

And I would buy a ROR dvd. Although I'd rather have a Departure era dvd.

I can't even speculate as to what he'll say. My hope is that he'll say that he's recording something for release in '07. But I'm just not sure he would say that even if he actually is recording something. I think he kind of likes keeping people guessing.

He'll announce that he's just signed on to be Van Halen's new lead Singer. Isn't it obvious? That whole DLR coming back is just to throw us all off.

I think we're more likely to hear THAT announcement than anything about a solo tour or CD.
Come on, we all know it will be the same old thing.

But still, I want that ROR dvd!!! That ALL I want. Anything more is a welcome bonus, but just gimme that ROR dvd.

And since it was mentioned, throw in Departure. I want that too. Make it a 2-disc set. (yes I'm selfish. I want it all).

No, Perry is the new bass player/backup vocalist.

yeah yeah, I suppose int eh Vocals department he could give Anthony a run for his money, in the bass playing dept though, not so sure. i know he used to play Bass & Drums, but I've never really heard him play Bass, nor Drums for that matter. Only seen pics of it happening. Would be a funny scenario though.

Does no-one else think its weird that this happens JUST when we get a big update on what is going on in the Journey camp? Are they trying to steal his fire? Or he theirs?

I know what I want to hear....new studio record, NOT a covers album, shows to be played in support of and the announcement that he and Kalodner will be giving the full Houston treatment to the Departure, Frontiers and then ROR tours, maybe even FTLOSM.
What I expect is just hype about the reissues and another threat of thinking of maybe doing "something" as just a little cliffhanger at the end. Almost an afterthought.

Having the Beacon show, I have to admit I'd be intrigued to take a look at what a properly mastered sound/picture-wise show from that aborted tour would be like.

He's said there's rolly not enough tour footage in the can....but maybe he could compile the best of what may be there...
