Obscure recordings

Postby ArnelRox » Sun Nov 05, 2006 12:17 pm

In light of a wonderful gem I discovered on the Now Playing thread of Tommy Tokioka featuring Steve Perry, I was wondering if anyone had any other rare recordings they'd be kind enough to share.

Rumor has it Perry recorded some songs even before Alien Project. Does anyone have those by any chance?

Anything else in ur collections that is rare? This goes for Journey, Perry, JSS, etc.

I'd LOVE any of the ones above & I marked what I have in there. Thanks so much.

I wonder if anyone has his recordings from before Alien Project. There were 3 songs.

I didn't even know there were any before Alien Project. If anyone has them though I'd love to hear them.

Hey Sallee, what do you have that I don't have on this list? I have a few more but it will take me some time to dig them out.

I think I have one of the pre-AP songs. It's called "It's Over" and that's all I know about it. Somebody want to enlighten me?

Here's the song: http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=A73561475A5809DA

PS It doesn't sound quite like SP in the beginning. I think it's the other guy. Listen to the 2nd verse though.

There's an It's Over that's a duet with Forrest McDonald. I don't know if that's what you have here or not. I've got it somewhere.

Lmaooooooo ! I do have alot ! 8)

Sherrie, you should do what I do.............. type everything you have down, then put it in a binder, in order by dates if it is a concert and setlist. It took me awhile to do it, but everything that I have concerning Steve/Journey ( and JSS) is in that binder. And it is on the shelf right next to my computer. Makes for easier finding when needed ! :D

You're right Sall, I should get more organized because whenever I need to find something I have to go digging. Right now I'm trying to find a bass solo for Matt off an ROR concert and I'm having a heck of a time.

Can't Fall Asleep to a Lullabye w/Forrest McDonald

Actually, this song was recorded with the group 'America'. The Forrest McDonald song is called "It's Over".
There is also "Soldiers of Peace" with CSNY, "Still in Love" with Sheena Easton and a couple of funny songs he recorded for LA radio station KLOS.

"Can't Fall Asleep to a Lullabye" IS with America, and it's a GREAT song. Not so wild about the Clannad song "white fool", and yes, sadly the recordings of Perry with Bon Jovi are crap quality at best, but still "nice" to hear, considering.
