For the poor tortured souls…..

Postby The_Noble_Cause » Wed Nov 15, 2006 8:30 am

For those poor tortured souls who lie awake at night crying out for a Generations DVD...

To the well-intentioned disciples that schedule their entire lives around something new from their favorite band...

To you patient-hearted, time-tested fools whose only crime was confusing the integrity of the music with the integrity of the men who crafted it....

For all of you - there is something you direly need to know:

The Dallas show was lip-synched and will never see the light of day.

Neal has already stated that he uses Rolling Stone magazine to wipe his ass, I can only conjecture that he uses the cutting room floor reels from Dallas & Warfield to wipe some different orifice.

NOT that he can he be entirely faulted, mind you.

The footage from last year’s tour features a frontman as mobile and energetic as Denny Hastert at the Baked Potato bar (yes, this jab was meant for you Rick. Quickly, shove that pyramid butt-plug up your stringent Republican manpussy one more time before the rapture.)

Now that all fears and hopes have been allayed, I expect no more blather about “when the Dallas dvd will emerge”.

It’s not. EVER.

It was a write-off for the band that will remain much like the Augeri-era itself from here on out: spoken in hushed tones and muted whispers.

I remember Deano and I both saying the DVD wouldn't see light the day it was announced.

You know what?
The Augeri Fans got their 2001 DVD and that should be plenty.
Why waste time on something that will net mediocre sales at best
when they could spend some time polishing up DVDs from
the Frontiers and ROR tours...
THOSE are the DVDs that the Journey-buying-public will
eat up like a bunch of fat kids in Wonka's chocolate factory :)

Funny you should mention that, because to many people (I think) Perry is the Gene Wilder Version of Wonka, while Augeri is the Depp version.

If they did a video of the pre-Perry stuff from last year only, I'd buy it. Hell yeah! That was the best part of the show last year! However, I don't think that'll even happen.

Yea, I was only kidding :)
Jeff ain't no spoiled bitch.
Funny thing is, Wonka handed the reigns to Charlie...
How cool would it be if Perry 'publically' applauded the band's decision
to get Jeff and praised Jeff's performnces????
Yea, I know, it will NEVER happen because Perry is so hung up on
"Not cracking that stone" but it would be pretty fuckin' cool

As far as Perry is concerned, the stone was cracked the very first time Journey stepped up on stage with Augeri.

But do they have that kinda stuff stored away?
We all know that they have tons of footage from the FRONTIERS and ROR tours
because of the F&B video, the ROR CBS documentary and constnt use of video screens
on those tours.
But did they do much filming pre-ESCAPE era tours?
I agree, DEPARTURE era footage would be great.

Yes, Carlitto, they did film pre-Escape tours. I happen to have a few boot vids of a tour from 1980. One is in good condition, the other is in a so-so condition. :D

If anyone remembers reading that Herbie Herbert interview from a few years back, Herbie mentioned that there is an amazing video in the vault from the DEPARTURE tour 1980.. It was the last show of that tour in Japan and also Gregg Rolie's last harrah with Journey.
