I know that patience is a virtue, but the wait for the "green light" to go on Andrew's Journey interviews is crawling at a snail's pace...

Are we hopeful to get the 'good to go' within the next day or two, or are we realistically looking more at the end of the month, maybe even beginning of the New Year?

The information will probably be outdated by the time it actually gets published. I feel kinda bad for Andrew, just having to sit on it while he waits for the band to take another 6 months to make some kind of statement.

I think we're more likely to see Chinese Democracy.

Obviously Andrew wasn't expecting such a delay in an official announcement and is probably now regretting offering to wait for management.

The way I see it, Andrew, is that one can be too much of a nice guy. Too accommodating. The band didn't ask you to wait, you, because you're such a classy guy, unwittingly gagged yourself. To quote a saying which may or may not be only common in Britain, "it's time to publish and be damned". Noone in the band is going to fall out with you about it, you know that.

Also, you have to be a journalist first and a friend of the band second.

Or put the ball back in management's court and tell them he is ready to roll, but will give them a day or two if they want to make an announcement.

Basically the situation is more complicated than it seems. The feature really is all about filling in the blanks and answering the questions posed by fans in recent weeks/months.

So I really am tied up waiting for an official comment first. If I had just launched the feature pre-announcement, it could cause long term problems. I am smart enough to see that, and was advised of an update coming soon, but as I have said, here we still are...

In light of the fact that Andrew is a music journalist first and foremost, and a "friend" second, I totally respect his decision to hold his interviews back until all the pieces are in place, with Journey management, and with Steve Augeri.

Being the fair-minded, classy guy that Andrew is, I can only hope that these interviews do not contain any detrimental material directed at Steve Augeri, especially considering the fact that he has not granted a personal interview himself. His silence on the whole matter should be respected for now, at least until he is ready to come forward with remarks of his own.

I also hope the band members themselves, while wanting to answer all the questions of the past few months, saw fit to use what little class they could muster amongst themselves, and refrained from damaging Steve's reputation any more than it already is. A little team spirit and compassion from them towards their "former" lead singer and "friend" would be very refreshing and very welcomed by those of us who are still fans of Steve Augeri.

I am anxiously waiting to read Andrew's interviews, although I don't expect any surprises, but I am sincerely hoping for fairness, compassion and respect towards Steve. I don't think I will be disappointed, as Andrew has always been fair and kind and his assertion that he likes Steve Augeri holds a lot of weight.

Well, I can never read an interview with Schon, without geting his voice stuck in my head, that nasily voice that he speaks with. You know the one.

Sometimes it's better to be surprised with an interview session, than to have so much hype for weeks or months, only to have to wait for the other side to do something. I don't believe there's going to be anything at this point too surprising in what I read, but if there is any NEWS, then it'll be OLD news by the time it's posted for us to read.

I dont believe "tapegate" will even be addressed in the interviews!! why on earth would the band want to talk about it.... if they do..they are in a "lose... lose" situation, as it simply can never be justified!

Here's "MY" opinion and thoughts on the reason things are moving so slow with an announcement.
Again, this is solely an opinion and thought on my part. I posted this at BT.
It's a little story to help explain my line of thinking here...

"Let me tell you a little Sports story...

Last year, the NBA's NY Knicks decided to ask Larry Brown to step down as head coach even though he had a few years left on his contract. The remaining time on his contract was upwards of $40 mill. Larry Brown was PO'ed at this move and made sure the Knicks knew that, before he stepped down and relinquished his position, the Knicks would have to 'buy-out' is contract or both parties would have to agree on some kind of monetary settlement. If they didn't, the Knicks could be held for 'Breach of Contract' and taken to court. So, since the Knicks weren't happy with Brown's performance and Brown was PO'ed at the Knicks for firing him, both parties made offers and counter-offers for a few months until finally reaching a settlement that they could both live with. Once that settlement was approved by David Stern (NBA 'Management'), the Knicks then moved forward and officially hired a new head coach.

I can only see them discuss if they are able to deny without qualifications.
