Anyone Here Ever Feel Like...

Postby scarygirl » Mon Sep 10, 2007 11:04 am

You get up in the morning. You have to because you work, but every once in a while, do you ever get the urge to pass your exit, and keep on driving? If you did, where would you go?

I've never done that, but it's a constant fantasy .... I've never taken so much as a vacation. The two or three days I've taken off here and there don't count because it always involves driving home to help my mother babysit. Sometimes, I think if I took a real vacation (I'm due two weeks a year), I'd never come back.

I'm just bored I guess. Life despite being advertised in technicolor always plays more like b/w.

Right now if I could just go anywhere I wanted to with no consequences it would be South Bend. I'd just wait there for everybody.

I would turn around and go back home. My perfect day off is watching Andy Griffith and Cartoons while eating Coco-Puffs, napping at 11:30, waking up to more mindless t.v. (Judge Judy, perhaps?), then greeting my kids when they get home from school.

Funny you should mention Judge Judy! I once got into a minor fender bender trying to get home in time to watch it! LOL! Tells you the sum entertainment of my life!

I live at the foot of a mountain. You can come visit me. But to be honest I think of the Rockies more as real mountains. These Blue Ridge ones are more like huge hills.

This right here is exactly how I live my life, but fortunately with my job if I decide to keep driving, I'll be okay. I love my job and what I do, but there are days when I just jump in the Jeep and just keep going until I can't go anymore. I've ended up lots of places like that.

Nashville, Savannah, Dallas, Boston, even Colorado and LA.

I'm a free-spirited nomad, so if I can't just up and run, I'd collapse. :P

AMEN!!!! I live smack-dab in the middle of a John Denver song. About 5 miles between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah River.

First off, Cocoa Pebbles taste better than Cocoa Puffs, and you should wait for that wife of yours. No offense but she can make your afternoon more delightful than the little ones.

PS- Drink a ton of apple juice

Yep, know exactly how you feel and I'm in the same mood lately. Funny thing is, looks like you're in NC, and that's where I've been thinking about going if I can come up with an excuse to get away. I have friends in Asheville I haven't seen in a long time and would love to visit. But sometimes I'd like to keep driving and just go somewhere quiet by myself.

Dean actually liked Baltimore. He hated Philly and most of the rest of the East Coast though.

Remember when Raymond in Rain Man had to get to a TV to see the "People's Court" with Judge Wapner?

They barged in on the lady and the kids all watching Wapner.

I've never been there, but my friends moved there about 3 years ago and love it. Sounds like a very cool place.

I like Baltimore, but I've mosly just seen the touristy stuff. Seeing Edgar Allen Poe's house was pretty cool, and the harbor area's nice. We could sit by the water outside our hotel and hear a concert at an amphitheater right across from us.

That would be Pier 6 Inner Harbor Concert Pavilion. I've seen Journey, Boston, and many others there. 8)

Yukon? Up there with the Ice Road Truckers and the Island of Misfit Toys? Not good. I don't have a decent pair of snow boots.
