Strange(grey) times, indeed

Hey Frank -

Was wondering if you have any funny stories about your time while employed by Journey? How about a couple?

I was never employed by Journey....Hell, there wasn't even a formalized agreement between mgmt and I. I did web work for the band...and eventually, I wanted to get paid for it. (as would you, if you were able to command a high salary doing the same exact work on the open market). Thats when I stopped doing work for the band!

LOL!

Assmuchers like Frye and others like to try to tell people I was fired....never the case. You have to be hired to be fired.

As far as any stories....shit, I've said em all here....none funny...all sad....and a reflection of how fucked up an organization Journey is.

The only thing I take away with a smile is getting to know Steve A and finding out what a warm, gracious, nice guy he is!

One that seemed a bit odd was the way that Leonard Haze got all bent out of shape for not receiving his fan packet and t-shirt in a timely manner. All kinds of stuff about how they'd played together 30 years ago (true) and how Neal was personally letting his fans down (false)

Heck, I have a lot of good stories to tell, most were funny and positive. At the time, I would never have guessed that things would turn so dark and sad.

Maybe you should start a blog. I think we'd all love to read it.

Show me where I've ever said that you were fired by JOURNEY.

Never said it. Talk about misrepresenting/baiting. You're the master of it.

HUH???

So you're saying that I've misrepresented and baited people. You're wrong.

Leonard Haze was the drummer for Y&T - I believe they played on lots of bills together in the very early days (pre-perry). He kind of went off the deep end in the forums because the fan pack was a bit late - something about having promised someone a t-shirt. Was pretty crazy, figured that Frank might've been around at that time. Really, I'm just looking for some funny anecdotes from folks who've been in the inner circle - always entertaining...

Oh THAT Leonard Haze!
LOL....My first thought was 'I didn't know spock was a Journey fan!' LOL...

I never heard that story. To be honest, the most significant stuff I was involved with at BT, before I lost interest due to the psychos and the loons infesting the place....was the fighting surrounding Meanie. So that dates me significantly....as it was VERY early in Back Talk's history, when that happened.

Allen is GOOD people. When Journey came through NY in 2001 on the Arrival Tour, Allen hosted me the entire afternoon. I got to spend the afternoon watching him work, watching the soundchecks of all 3 bands and finally, observing the show from front row center. It was a fantastic experience I'll never forget, all thanks to Mr AlienC.

The sad thing is that some people actualy believe being in Journey's 'inner circle' ends with any kind of positive experience.

Yeah, I got into it several times with that guy before he got booted for plagiarizing stories from the internet. He'd get into it with someone and then, almost like clockwork, he'd post a story, supposedly about himself, making himself look like some kind of hero by either helping out a stranger or some such thing. Then he'd get into it with someone again and the cycle would start all over again. Finally, someone figured out he was copying these stories from somewhere else on the internet.
