NO WAY!

Postby Journey69 » Fri Dec 14, 2007 11:07 am

I just heard these guys for the 1st time.. Arrival.. Journey tribute band.. holy shit.. Every time I hear Jeremey or Hugo,I feel something is missing.. I'm not taking shots at all, love them both.. Jeremey is a stand up guy and if either of them came to the midwest I would be all over it.. But this guy, hell even the guitarist is spot on.. I will watch more of them to formulate more of an opinion, but so far I'm impressed and I don't impress easily...But this guy has SP's tone and just sounds like its completely natural for him.. The sounds quality is kinda of shit, but my lord..how did Neal miss this dude!

The thing is.. He doesn't exaggerate and he has the pauses down.. The voice is already there.. Even Arnel tends to drag lines out and that bugs me..

He looks corny.

I am a musician. I love many bands. I would never be able to live with myself if I didn't do my own thing. How is the world can these guys live with themselves? Maybe they know that they will never do anything else? Maybe they are cashing in? Is there that much demand for a Journey tribute band? It's kind of like mental masturbation to me. I don't get it. If you want to see a great band playing Journey tunes, go see THE tribute band...Journey.

I will - they do weddings (?), were at a casino not too far from me and it looks like they aren't booked for New Year's Eve - I'll keep my eyes open for that one.

Because, they play at bars where they know people want to hear popular music.. And Journey didn't have a singer,so they throw it up on you tube for Journey to see.. If I had a band,I would write some stuff and mix it in.. There might be some songs from me that people might want to hear more..Write more and pretty soon you baby fed them your stuff and you don't need to cover anything..

They do a ton of different covers from Matchbox 20 to Jimmy Buffett to REO to Journey - there's a sample of Wheel in the Sky on the website that sounds great - and the lead singer is named Jeff, grew up in Turlock, CA. Band has been together since 2002.

You've got to be kidding me. Band's not bad, but you think this guy sounds good? I'll take Augeri over him any day and I hated Augeri in Journey. This guy's worse.

You'd have to move to Utah, but I'm not sure if the band will commute that far. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all... :P

Arnel, while quite the dickmunch, is better than AL the others.

Let the flaming begin. I don't give shit. He is better than any other singer who applied.
