Infinty is the coolest IMO.

Trial By Fire, while it takes it's deserved knocks for artwork, is still pretty original, to say the least. Nothing about it says "Journey," but it's still a cool painting.

I like Christopher Payne's version of Frontiers as well. He did a whole series on those at BT one time.

I'd have to say mine is a toss-up between Escape, and Frontiers. Love the Scarab, but also love the weird brain/space alien also!

I love Evolution, and at one point almost considereding getting a tattoo of that one.

And I bet I'm the only one, and I know it's weird and doesn't fit with the rest of the "collection", but I actually like the ROR cover a lot - have since I was a kid. I love mountains so I like the background... I like that it looks like twilight, with the sun *just* gone on the horizon, and I love the little deserted building in the middle of nowhere. I miss living out west when I look at that one.

So probably between Evolution and ROR for me.

Captured is a pretty cool front and back album cover. Nobody ever mentions that. Cool pictures inside, too.

ROR (love blue) and Departure (so colorful). I am actually cross-stitching both of those (and have the pattern for Escape), LOL it's going to take me years at this rate.....doing them album size.

TBF does have the scarab on the one "fallen down jar of clay (referenced in the title track.)" Subtle touch.

There's also a comet, or something like that, circling the planet on the TBF cover as on the Evolution, Infinity, and Departure covers. I think it's also called a mobius strip, symbolic of infinity.

Evolution and Departure for me even though I have a piece of art larger than album size of Escape hanging on the wall.

my personal favourite is Trial BY Fire

Just thought aswell after studying the cd cover for a few minutes:

The words in the song TBF "fallen down but not destroyed just another trial by fire". well on the cover there is the picture of the scarab painted onto a pot that has fallen down . . but not destroyed. POssibly meaning Journey fell down, they collasped but got over it, Journey had not been destroyedv . . .

Escape and ROR
"as long as they have to carry DSB as their banner, it looks like Perry will be right there with them as an overseer, ready to wield his veto power on all things Classic Journey." As quoted by Don on 12/7/2010

Such fine airbrushing...... it's tricky to choose, actually. I'll go for Escape right now because I remember first getting it on vinyl and going "Fucking hell, that's good" when I looked at the sleeve. :P

I'm not one for all this complicated artwork, Escape cover is an iconic one but the Red 13 alternative cover does it for me. Sometimes simple is best in design. With so many melodic bands going for futuristic covers it's nice to see a typo design sometimes.

INFINITY.

TBF is not so good.
The Greatest Hits Live one with the girl on it is the absolute worst. Who the hell picked that??
I also think Frontiers stinks, but it was good enough for the car company to rip it off for their logo.

I DID like the redone Red13 album. That was nice.
