OT---Sebastian Bach New Vocalist of Velvet Revolver

Postby mikemarrs » Fri Jan 25, 2008 4:02 pm

i'm trying to find the site as we speak saying Bach formerly of Skid Row might be the next frontman for Velvet Revolver.there is some issues between band members as scott weiland missed an important gig then claimed he missed his plane.he then told a journalist to look for a stone temple pilots reunion here in the next few months.

Bach is ten million times as talented as that scrawny pipsqueak heroin addict Weiland.

Sebastian? Best hard rock singer of all time. 6'5". A true rock frontman.

Weiland? A whiny little fruit loop. 5'9". Lousy singer.

It's already out there about the STP reunion. So I guess everything Slash has been saying about how good things have been going in Velvet Revovler isn't quite the whole picture. Missed Velvel Revolver a couple months ago and still kecking myself.

Holy shit, is this true??? If so, that would be a truly awesome lineup. Bach sings circles around Weiland and to me, is more of a stylistic match to the music they produce. I always wondered why they didn't hire Bach in the first place, but after watching that VH1 show "supergroup", I assumed it was because he was an unpredictable issue laden drunk who's difficult to get along with. Like I said, perfect fit, lol...!

While he doesn't have those amazing pipes that he had on like 'I Remember You' he still does ok and would be a much vocalist than Weiland ever was..if one can even call Weiland a vocalist. Whatever happened to making sure the lead singer could..uh..sing..lol.. :P
Bach and Slash on stage together..

Bach would be a cool addition to VR. I'd go see them.

They'll still need a top notch song writer to help (Bach's solo album proves he isn't that), but I'd go for this also. Weiland is a horrid "vocalist".

Bach was in the running when they were looking for a vocalist to begin with. I still wouldn't be suprised to see a GNR Reunion. If Bach and little Axl are such good friends and Bach joins his old band mates, it'll either piss Axl off, or the exact opposite :?

Bach would definately have been the initial choice for me. I agree with Andrew in that his new solo album is more than a little ropey but his work on the Frameshift album An Absence of Empathy was simply outstanding.

Searched the 'usual' haunts to find info on this but to no avail. Is this just speculatation at this point or fact as the thread title is a statement rather than a question?

"D: You were close to being part of rock super group Velvet Revolver. What happened there?

B: At the time I was in Jesus Christ Superstar and I had a family to support and a mortgage to pay. And I was making a good living; Velvet Revolver wasn’t even signed at that point. I had to go out to Hollywood with them for a month. I recorded six songs and then I had to go. I was on the road with JCS for six months. They got Scott Weiland and are selling tons of records, and now I’m on tour with their former band mate Axl. It’s funny how everything works out."

Bach in VR would be great. I think Andrew nailed it when he said they'll still need a lead song writer. Bach is cool and is one of the best metal singers out there. I've always shunned VR as that piece of shit Weiland sang for them. I never understood how that fuck he got into that band. Let's see, he's a pussy boy, heroin addict, looks and moves like a fag ... the perfect choice for a good hard rock band.

Bring on Bach!

Have they talked to Soto? I could see JSS taking that band to the next level as well.

If they got Bach, then there would be an actual reason to even be remotely interested in the band. Hopefully, they will actually rock now if this is the case.

Yeah, I love Bas too (STTG is one of the alltime great hard rock records) but if the band wants a stabilizing influence, Bach ain't it!

I was hoping for this when VR was originally auditioning singers.
They were down to two choices, Bach and Weiland, and they picked Weiland.
So no surprise they would go back to ask Bach.

You people need to aim higher in life.

You are grappling about over who? Sebastian Bach? Haha, why not just get your old Quiet Riot records out? Maybe White Lion or even Krokus.

Come on already? Dokken, White Lion, Great White, Skid Row, are all shit.

PS- "Slave to a Grind? you didn't say that right?

Skid Row back in the day. Opened for Bon Jovi to promote their debut album. Best concert I've ever been too. Even if I was with my mother and she was complaining about all the curse words.

I know he sounded like absolute CRAP singing "Ain't Talking 'Bout Love" at the VH Rock And Roll Hall of Fame tribute, and his little Mick Jagger chicken-wing maneuvers just about killed the performance. I pity people like him, and would be glad to see him out of the picture.

True. Quite the temper too, I saw an interview here on our Canadian music channel back when he was doing the Jesus Christ Superstar gig.....and the interviewer mentioned Skid Row being in the same genre as Poison, etc. and he ripped the mic off his shirt and said.....I'm done! And walked off. I remember thinking what a friggin prima donna. Personality aside he is an amazing singer though.

Loved this one back in the day, he has that same operatic quality to his vocals that Perry had. IMO

I think he still has a lot of it vocally. I saw him on Celebrity Duets a year or 2 ago and he definately still had most of it vocally. Even David Foster (judge) mentioned something. Actually as corny as that show was, wish they would do another, it was cool to see some of the those singers performing again (some, I'd totally forgot about :o )......LOL, and actually got a kick out DDY and that comedian performing Mr Roboto.

Yeah, he's got got the bad temper coupled with major LSD (lead singer disease). Still, though... great singer. The Jeckyll & Hyde stuff blew me away. Too bad they recorded the sountrack with Hasslehoff after he took over. There's a few of Bach's tracks floating around though.

Here's the latest news on Velvet Revolver. No mention of Bach perhaps ending the speculation about his involvement with the band at least for the moment.

John Benson of Billboard.com reports: After VELVET REVOLVER wraps a spring tour in support of its second album, "Libertad", frontman Scott Weiland will rejoin his former bandmates in STONE TEMPLE PILOTS for a handful of summer reunion shows, guitarist Slash tells Billboard.com.

STP broke up in late 2002; the band's last album was the previous year's "Shangri-La Dee Da". No other details have yet been revealed about STP's plans.

In the meantime, Weiland and his VELVET REVOLVER bandmates are still plugging away in support of "Libertad" with dates that run through early April. There's also the hope that recording for album number three could begin in the spring.

"I don't think anybody knew the second one came out," Slash admits. "We didn't promote it, for one. The first record I remember going out for three weeks on the road and just promoting, with (bassist) Duff (McKagan) and myself going to Europe, Japan and the States.

 Great post Dean. You forgot the Bulletboys though. The 10,000 hairbands that flooded MTV in the late 80's turned my stomach. The only thing I disagree with is Great White. They're pretty good, "Can't Get There From Here" was an excellent cd. :D
