Yep, have known this for a long time..don't know who could say they didn't with all the information that has been available.....but I guess some just chose to stick their head in the sand and didn't want to see.Enigma869 wrote:ABC News is reporting that the Pentagon will release a report tomorrow that publically admits, for the very first time, that there was NEVER a connection between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda! And when I say snorts it's not like Jackie Gleason would mean, ifyouknowwhatimeanandithinkyoudo.
It's like a sound guy from Texas in the '80s would mean.

I can't provide you with a link, because it's a story that I watched on ABC's World News Tonight, at 6:30 this evening! Elizabeth Vargas said the report is being released by the Pentagon tomorrow, so I suspect it will show up all over the place tomorrow!

What I'm actually commenting on isn't McCain as Pres per se, simply that were he Pres and the Congress remains Democratically controlled, we would find ourselves in the same basic position as we are today. I'm not so sure that they will pick up enough seats to override a veto.conversationpc wrote:AlienC wrote:It's design is to allow some wiggle room (plausible deniability) for Congressional seats up for grabs this year. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying here, it sounds like you're not too excited about McCain. If I remember correctly, from our days on The Cooler, you were a big fan of McCain. What's changed in the meantime?

Apparently your "scouring" skills are a bit lackluster

I don't think I was roasting you. I was simply pointing out that I didn't think the Bush administration had made the claim that Iraq was linked to the 9/11 attacks but just to Al Qaeda in general. If this report is correct, I'll be the first to admit that I was wrong.

If this is true, then more power to the world to hate us even more. And locally (nationaly), more power to the political opposites to further polarize our great nation.
I've never really condoned this war...just all the bad guys in the world, such as Saddam Hussein. Call this war whatever you want, but be certain that America sent a msg to the rest of the world that we're not afraid to 'pop a cap in yo ass' at our own expense.
Hey, been there...done that. Next time you see me, ask about Beirut. Ask my Dad about Viet Nam, and Korea. Ask my family about WWII & WWI. And yes, it wasn't too long ago that our Dads died for the Civil War. NOBODY will ever convince me that being a timid pacifist does any real good. No, hell f'ing no, life takes force. Take charge of your being and you will know for certain that every day is a fight...economically, personally, and defensively. There is absolutley no way that America will ever continue to exist the way WE want it if we sit idly by. We must take the fight to 'them'. Period.
PLEASE FOR GOD'S SAKE, some create a spreadsheet with all the numbers. PLEASE tell me who died when and for what political cause. I guaran - f'ing - tee you that today's battles kill far less Americans than in the past.
And ya know what? It's not our duty to keep people alive. It's our duty to broadcast our way of life and to care for the oppressed. It's our promise to 'democracy' and 'freedom' that we will sacrifice our lives to make it so.
Our young men & women sign a contract and take an oath to do that very thing. (Yes, me included.) If they can't take it seriously, or if we can't ensure that they fulfill their contract with America to do a job, then we should hold them responsible, or at the very least hold all the goddamned liberals responsible for making excuses for them.
God bless George Patton for slapping that Soldier.
Get off your @ss and make something happen. Never sit by and wait to be wronged. Get out there and make sure it doesn't happen to you.
Anyone remember the movie, 'Red Dawn'? Yes, it can and may happen...right here.
later~

If I remember correctly the main reason when Bush announced the "shock and awe" were the UN resolution violations that Saddam agreed to following Desert Storm.
Can anyone pull up Bush's initial announcement. I've tried and can't find it. I'd like to read it with 20/20 hindsite.

I'm also not so sure Pelosi et al would bury their hatchets and work on real problems instread of playing softball, as they've been doing.
Nothing but a bunch of Nest Feathering Wallet Stuffers. Damn pests. The whole bunch of them.... From one end of Pennsylvania Ave to the other. And K street? Everyone of those Carpetbagging Industrial Whores should be forced to work in the inner city with the real victims of their record breaking profits. Lets say, 100 hours for every 100K of "salary", Bonus or whatever the hell it is you call that kind of BLOOD MONEY.
