I haven't heard anything negative about it. The worst has been a "Meh" sort of feeling.

I still am a little less than impressed with the live clips I've seen of him, but this song is great and he nails it!

Yawn. That is my reaction to this song. Recycled and nothing interesting except Neal's guitar. If you love it, great. But I don't love it. I am a longtime Journey fan and not a fucking moron, so there goes your theory.

It's certainly nothing new, and it's certainly the Journey formula...but its very good, IMO.

I was just writing in and wanted my first word to be "Yawn", though I wasn't going to actually write it. It's stuff off of TBF, Arrival, Generations, yadda yadda. People will here it and go wow - classic Journey sound, but that's about it, I suspect.

Remember when every Journey album sounded different? Those were the good 'ol days. Innovation. But I wasn't expecting much anyway. Better than Augeri - nowhere near Perry. I still think JSS would have been a much bolder and challenging choice. This is cookie cutter. And I am not a moron either.

It's not horrible though. Just sort of the same as before.

Did FTLOSM really have anything that hadn't been done before? He didn't really break any new ground with that release, but I still enjoy it.

Sounds straight out of the Arrival sessions. AP was at the top of his vocal range. Not a fan of the background mix. Overall, good, but like others have stated..pretty cookie cutter for them.

I would not have posted this here, out of my unending adoration for Neal but this once-in-a-lifetime chance for us to switch sides, if not roles, is too good to pass up.

I gotta rip Neal for that note-bending ad infinatum that I hear again right at the outset of the track! This is a subtle change that's been going on since earlier this decade.

I want the relatively straight-forward simplistic crunching lead playing of The Place In Your Heart.

Had a depth to it that nne of the others had. Had LA sound rather than Frisco sound. I thought it was quite different.

I don't really know what sound it had but it could've been mixed/mastered much better than it was. It doesn't really sound much better than either "Generations" or "Red 13" to my ears.

That's the beauty of opinion, I guess. I loved FTLOSM much more than Arrival, Generations, or Red 13. THough I do like the Deen songs on Generations and Walking Away From The Edge on Red 13.

Absolutely LOVE this! It has everything a Journey song is supposed to have:catchy chorus, great guitars and an excellent Voice. 8)
Reminds me of BGTY and that's a GOOD thing.

Can't wait to hear the whole album.

Thanks for uploading the song.

Ditto. Except I'm not digging Neal's guitar on this. The instrumentals lack focus. The guitar work is all over the place and feels outside of the melody of the song. I think that's a result of Neal starting in the studio with be good to yourself and recycling it into Never Walk Away. Contrived effort to get away from the BGTY comparison.

That's the difference between nothing new and recycling. Nothing on FTLOSM is derivative of Journey songs that came before it. The style of music might be the same, but the songs were new original works. The tone of the songs (and album) was very melancholy as opposed to Journey which were upbeat.

I'm hoping other songs are better. I can't support a song that makes me sing lyrics from a previous song the band already made.
