I'll post this on the other thread too, but if Journey sells 16,573 albums for each week of the US-leg of the tour (which ends Oct. 5th, before 2 Canadian dates), the album will go platinum.
I think there's a strong case for this album going platinum by the end of the 'Revelation' tour in October ......

It won't go platinum unless there is some airplay...After All These Years seems to be languishing...lets release Never Walk Away to Top 40!

A tour is 10 times better than airplay these days...and that's what kicks off tomorrow. Album sales will only increase as the tour starts - that is if the band plays 2-3 songs from it.

if they play 5 shows a week to 12000, then 20 percent of the people attending would have to buy, and with us loons already owning it that number looks like a stretch.
it just shows how far the music business has fallen.
i would have thought a million copies of this would have been a given.
dont get me wrong im not ripping them , its a really good cd, i keep it in my car .
and of all the classic melodic releases this one is for sure the best seller.
hey andrew any slaes numbers to compare(DL, asia, loverboy, reo)

He has a great VOICE, but he's lacking a bit in the HOW area. Maybe it is just his 'live' voice, or maybe it is his 'accent'...Who knows? But I'd rather hear the new stuff. SA was better at the new stuff as well.....

Learn how to sing. You've got to be kidding
Saint John wrote:I just want to hear a minimum of 3 new songs. If they play 3 I'll be content, but 4 would be ideal...all things considered. The 90 minute set really doesn't allow for more than 4. 3 or 4 new songs per concert would be perfect. I think for the first time since 1986 they have an actual obligation to play new material the way the album has sold thus far.

With a 90-minute set on tour (this is just a guesstimate), then they have time for about 18 songs (at 5 minutes each).
So that's The Dirty Dozen (however you define those 12, but including a Neal Schon-solo/intro), plus 6 other songs. One of the Dirty Dozen would likely be "Mother, Father". For the 6 remaining, they'll probably do a "deep" track, another Castronovo-led song, and four tracks from 'Revelation'. One of those four would be the 'Generations' re-record of "Faith in the Heartland", leaving three others. My guess is those would be: "After All These Years", "Never Walk Away", and "Wildest Dream".
There -- that's my prediction .....
