She's friggin 62 Years Old!!!!!

Report: Cher to Play Catwoman in Next 'Batman' Movie

The Oscar-winning actress and singer, 62, is in talks to star opposite Christian Bale in the third of the "dark" Batman films directed by Christopher Nolan, according to the tabloid.

A studio executive reportedly told the Mirror: "Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman. He wants her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years. The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

Rumors also have Johnny Depp starring as The Riddler, Angelina Jolie as Catwoman and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin in the follow-up to this summer's blockbuster "The Dark Knight."

Cher set to play catwoman in next Batman movie

Cher has been lined up to play Catwoman in the next Batman movie.

The Oscar-winning actress and singer is in talks to star opposite Christian Bale in the third of the "dark" Batman films.

Cher, 62, was invited to join a cast which includes Johnny Depp as The Riddler.

A studio executive revealed: "Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman. He wants her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years.

"The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

Shooting on the film, provisionally titled The Caped Crusader, is due to start in Vancouver early next year.

The Dark Knight, this summer's big blockbuster, has been the most successful of the six modern movies, which started with Tim Burton's Batman in 1989.

Let's just include George Cloony, Arnold, Val Kilmer and everybody else from the 3rd and 4th films. For me at least, this signifies the beginning of the end for this new interpretation of BATMAN.

This seems to have already been widely debunked, thank God! Here's the latest update from AICN -

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/38073

and FilmDrunk -

http://filmdrunk.uproxx.com//post.phtml?pk=2460

British journalists today proved once again the extraordinary lengths they'll go to prove that they do not give a f*ck. Via The Telegraph:

[Headline] Cher 'to play Catwoman' in next Batman film
[Subheadline] Cher has been lined up to star in the next Batman movie, it has been claimed.
The 62-year-old singer and actress is reported to be in talks to play Catwoman opposite Christian Bale in the third Batman film from British director Christopher Nolan. The Oscar-winner will join a cast that includes Johnny Depp as The Riddler as she plays the whip-carrying burglar.

Just so we're clear, none of that is remotely true. It was only ten days ago that Variety reported WB had made Chris Nolan an offer, and there's still no word on whether he's accepted. Nonetheless:

A studio executive said: "Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years.
Filming of the new Batman instalment, provisionally entitled The Caped Crusader, is due to begin in Vancouver early next year.
"The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

That's right, Cher's Catwoman will include far more barking and shitting. "Chris Nolan is really intrigued by the grown-woman-shitting-in-a-litter-box angle, and was surprised no one had explored that yet," said the source, "He chose Cher because Cher is old, and old people have less dignity."

I could MAYBE see it working (albeit only after a really long day without any sleep and drunk off my ass), I'm gonna lean towards a no.

That would be both. Apparently there is nothing wild but speculation from the press at the moment.

Nothing wrong with your av; that's a world-class tush.

Cher as CatWoman? Hey, why not. Her face will be half covered with a mask, plus she's had more surgery than Joan Rivers, so her body in black tights won't be lookin' 60. You know what they say...when the world ends there will still be cockroaches...and Cher. 8)

Its a tabloid thing, Nolan has said he did not want Robin, Catwoman, or the Penguin in any of his films. They were too much fantasy. I read somewhere he is entertaining the Riddler, but the next movie (if there is one)will be a Two face thing, and the manhunt for Batman. Gordon has to try and catch him now.... maybe the Riddler, or someone else as the Joker.
Bale has said he will not do the movie with Nolan in the drivers seat, and vice cersa.

this is from wikipedia

"Batman locates the Joker and prevents him from destroying the ferries after the passengers on both decide not to destroy each other. The Joker acknowledges that Batman is truly incorruptible, but that Dent was not, and his madness has been unleashed upon the city. After Batman subdues the Joker and leaves in search of Dent, the SWAT team arrives and arrests the Joker. At the remains of the building where Dawes died, Batman finds Dent holding Gordon and his family at gunpoint. Dent judges the innocence of Batman, himself, and Gordon's son through coin tosses. He shoots Batman in the abdomen, but before Dent can determine the boy's fate, Batman tackles him, and they both fall over the side of the building. Dent appears dead, and Batman and Gordon realize the loss of morale the city would suffer if Dent's murders became known. Batman persuades Gordon to preserve Dent's image by holding Batman responsible for the murders. Gordon destroys the Bat-Signal, and a manhunt for Batman ensues."

I cant see Cher doing it, but i can see Depp as the Riddler...

Vancouver during its rainy season is very dark and brooding..

Some people are just so narrow minded.. I wish they'd realize that MANY big budget and high grossing Hollywood movies are filmed north of the border, and not all in the USA..

Jim Carey actually did a good Riddler. I think it should be Two Face as he was a much darker, cooler villian than the Penguin or Catwoman. Catwoman and Penguin have already been done. The Joker was too, but he's a much more dominant feature in the Batman lore. Two Face was done too, but done terribly by Tommy Lee Jones. Made him too laughy. They made it look like he died, but maybe he didn't. Catwoman, though hot on the old show, was never that interesting as a character. God, what next, King Tut? Ugh...
They need to keep the darkness that's in the current movies and not camp it up with villians like Mr. Freeze, Penquin, etc. Also, with Catwoman, they'll always have that association with the Halle Berry thing. What a piece of crap that was.
