Just got back finally!!! Wow what a show! First off, Cheap Trick (who I didnt even really ever like before) was great. They are really entertaining. Heart....phenomenal. They havent lost a step at all over the years. And of course, Journey. They were unbelievable. A packed house at Blossom Music Center seemed to be on their feet and it appears as though Arnel has won over the Cleveland crowd. I did the ILAA package and our seats were unreal. Front row, between Arnel and Neal. I got yelled at immediately by the security guy though for using my camera. OK, Livenation's rules specifically for the Journey show this night was that you could take in a non professional camera as long as you didnt use a flash. Well apparently the tour manager changed their mind for tonight and wouldnt allow cameras. Good thing for cell phones which of course are allowed. But then I got in trouble from another security guard because he thought i was recording on my cell phone. Yeah right, like I would even think of doing that! All in all it was a great show but my only complaint was that Neal's guitar seemed to be a little too loud. I wasnt the only one who said this either. Its almost like they purposely cranked it up. This is just pure speculation on my part because from what I heard, Arnel sounded just fine, but maybe they felt due to his recent illness, it would be better to crank up the guitar and drown him out a little. I dont know, again I'm speculating. Its just that some of Neal's notes sounded a little off because of this. But not that much though. Then we got to sit in the parking lot for an hour. So much for the ILAA VIP parking! Oh, and even though I know they announced that the meet & greets were cancelled, I believe at least one band member(usually 3 or 4) had shown up at each show. Tonight was I believe the first night that no one from the band was able to make it to see us. We were told due to medical reasons for everyone in the band, they couldnt make it. However they appeared just fine to me. So whatever. But it was a great time. AND......this is the best part. I made a birthday card for Arnel and held it up and he took it and then he held it up for everyone to see!!! So that was pretty cool.

one more thing. I just want to say thanks a lot to the girl who rushed the stage for the last song and pushed me over and ended up getting Dean's drumstick that would have been mine since that is where I was standing. So if you're out there, watch your back!!! JK, but I was a little pissed at the time.

The front row: Me, Rip, Mrs. Rip, St. John, St. John's sister, Txfirefighter, Young Jrny, T Time, with visits from Blue Jean Girl & Rhiannon ...

St. John and T Time made the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders look dispirited ... dancing & prancing and singing every word at full volume. I think the guys got a kick out of it.

The party is still going on somewhere in this hotel; I have flaked out; I'm sure the others will report in eventually.

If I were lead singer of Journey, they would schedule a 1 day tour. Throat is BLEEDING! Didn't mess up one lyric though and was energized and practicably head banging. Front row dead center. RIP, Susie Q (Mrs.RIP) Linda, Gayle, Myself, Dan, T-time , Rhi and BJG were up close and very very personal during the show. Parties before and after..were out of control. Too tired to post a full review of the weekend, running on 3 hours of sleep in 3 days. Will be coming soon. Stay put, ya'll!

YEAH BROTHER!

Thankfully MR is a typed, because I cannot talk now. The show and the improptu Dokken concert Rip and I put on at the end of the night at the bar has left me with NO voice.

It was a GREAT time. Glad to have seen everyone again that I already know, and glad to have met some new fine people!

It's VERY cool to see younger Journey fans.

As I have ALWAYS said...it's about THE MUSIC. And the MUSIC was kickin' ass this weekend! I will post a review later...right now I need 2 Advil and 4 hours of sleep!

Great show last night, unfortunately was running late getting in from Pittsburgh, so I missed all of Cheap Trick and most of Heart. I have to say though that last night I was a bit disappointed in the setlist. They were playing it WAY too safe. And where was "Dead Or Alive" or any of the songs Deen had been singing this tour? Where was "Wildest Dream" and "Where Did I Lose Your Love"? Anyway, still a great show at a sold out venue, and it's always a good thing when you can be wearing a Slayer shirt at a Journey show and hear the "SLAYERR!!!" warcry. Way more Slayer fans at that show than I expected. I got stopped with "nice shirt" quite a bit. Other than the setlist slight disappointment, and the guy behind me yelling "f**k you" every time Journey announced they were playing a new song, the show was amazing, as always. Good job, guys. Please, can you mix up the setlist a bit more next time?

Deen hasn't been singing in a while now. He sang at the show in March at Las Vegas, but I'm not sure he's sang since then. Maybe at the onset of the tour, but I'm not sure.

Home. Exhausted. 3 hours sleep (maybe) in as many days. Throat is bleeding and ears are ringing. Watching the Boys on the TV playing in the city I just flew in from. Craziness. Need detox.

Will put up pics and details later........right now sleep is top priority!

Holy Freakin' Crap, is all I can say.

How me and Rhi got in there was just  since we had different seats and all, but the short version is that thanks to SJ, Time, some interesting timing, and my mad ass ninja skills  , it got handled. 8)

Pictures are certainly forthcoming from most of us, but dear god, I know we're all tired as hell. The sunshine was just about there to say goodnight to us both days...

I was Thelma. Louise dropped me off and should be home about now.

You know, I might have been polite enough to at least review the show.

We missed Cheap Trick, except for the few bars we caught along the 18 mile hike from the parking lot to the venue, and then missed about half of Heart trying make bathroom and beer stops and weasel down to the pavillion. Howver, what I did see of Hear was awesome. I made it to the seat in time for their cover of The Who's "Love Reign O'er Me", which is really the one thing I wanted to see with regard to Heart.

Between sets, I was with Rhi, wandering (as we often do), and nature called at the WRONG damn time and refused to wait, so while I was exiting the ladies room, I heard the beginning of "Never Walk Away", so I plowed right over at least 50 people, wrestled an alligator, fought off a grizzly bear (but I ducked under the brontosaurus - fucker never even saw me), and hightailed it back to the seat just in time for the first chorus. And if you'd seen the distance between bathroom and seat, you'd never believe I could make it in the span of just one verse. 8)

(ok there was no gator, bear or bronto, but the rest is true)

The show was awesome, and it got better after I ended up in the front row. 8) Arnel is really fun to watch, he sounded great, the band sounded awesome and the set list was fun - basically the same one that others have been posting, except what was up with the ONE SONG encore?

By the time I peeled my eyes off Deen (I love to just watch that dude GO) and realized that wow, I was two feet in front of one of my favorite bands, I finally remembered to become exicted. For whatever I've said about band politics or about them as people, I can't deny that it was pretty awesome to look up and think "jesus, that's Neal fucking Schon, playing right in front of me".

8)

But MOST of all, it was so wicked awesome to share that with Rhi, Time, YoungJrny, Rip and the Mrs., Dan, Linda & Gayle because we all have that common. The last J show I was at in 2006, I was with 2 people who didn't really care about Journey and were there for DL, and it was no fun not having people to rock out with who love it just as much as I do. You guys are the freakin' best, and it was a pleasure to party with you all for 2 straight days. 8) 8)

Meeting up with the Vegas peeps again was more than exciting. Great to see everybody again..and we did the unthinkable of topping The Vegas party with hardcore partying at Holiday Inn's fantastic bar.

Meeting new people from the boards was outstanding and made it special. BJG, Behshad, Journey/Survivor, DrFU.. Very nice meeting you fine people..every one of you. Loved your company and enjoyed being around you guys. Dans sister was a pretty cool cat as well along with Time's cousin and wife and our parents. The get together was so nuts that the bar tenders were actually handing us props and giving us things from the bar so we can keep on with the entertainment. Funny stuff.

The concert itself was unbelievable and my throat will never recover from the screams..and I'm sure I can speak for everyone else. Being that close puts a stamp on how surreal it can be. Breath taking to say the least. Heart was sexy as usual and me and Dan were checking out Nancy Wilson the whole show..so sexy. Journey was not explainable...they were that good and Arnel left NOBODY hanging whoever was up front. An outstanding personality with outstanding stage whereabouts. He made the night, and it showed on Jon and Neal's face. Smiling from ear to ear. Ross Valory is still goofy and is funny as hell to watch..entertaining to say the least. Rhi, you're welcome for letting you take my spot..I stood there all night and didn't hesitate to offer my spot to you for the few songs that you and BJG were there for!

I thank all of you guys for a helluva fun time... Gayle, Rhi, Dan, RIP, Mrs.RIP, Time,Mrs.Time.. Mel (who looks like Nancy Wilson and has her own sex appeal!) Lynn( she likes fried pickles haha), Behshad (Great guy with a great sense of humor) BJG (bad luck charm..haha! ;-) Coochie, Mrs.Cooch, Mom, Dad, Dans sister, Stu(crazy bastard and funny as hell!) Linda (pretty lady who just sat back and watched all of us and just chuckled most of the time..great woman..) Journey/ Survivor(quiet and cool as the other side of the pillow..)Here's to next year.. til next time. Love ya'll.

Omg, that reads just like album liner notes. LMAO! The bad luck turned around, though! I knew that the minute I swooped down into the MR front row party like supermotherfuckin' Journey ninja. That was cool as hell, rockin' out with all you guys down there. 8) 8)

Seems the rest of the gang is filling in the reviews nicely. It was great to meet you guys that I hadn't met before and to see the rest of the road warriors again. We are a fun bunch; good times are the only kind we have. Only :( in the whole weekend was missing my sidekick, Crazy Deb... But we are on for Firefest in a few weeks, so we'll have to party extra hearty across the pond.

I am just now home & unbelievably I seem to have an Eagles concert in San Antonio tomorrow night. :D

Gayle, did you use the take out box? I think I may need it.

Oh well, no sleeping in rock and roll...
