Sorry Mav. I did not mean to hi-jack your thread but I just got carried away and equally excited about the GQ stuff.
Carry on...

Someone has it in the JF under the Tech Forum. I'm too technically challenged to bring it over here. :? :?

Been listening to Schon's solo stuff today. When I started listening to Beyond The Thunder, I got curious and looked it up on Amazon to read the reviews of others, and their opinions were just like mine. Incredible record. This dude can just flat play the guitar. He makes it speak to you. Listening to I on U now. Another great record.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Beyond the Thunder is my favorite. But listen to Voice. I don't know. Maybe you won't like it, but I think it's great.
Killing me Softly on the album is amazing.

I've listened to Voice before, and it's great also.

Here's another new great new CD. Schon's "Father" from I on U is on it. My favorite song from that CD.

Dreams of the Electric Guitars Vol 1
Schon, Satriani, Vai, you name it.

but that song goes nowhere!!.. no beginning , middle , or end.. reminds me of

spending .99 cents on SHOWDOWN... same results..

one take/one riff..

Schon's playing has exponentially sucked while playing in Journey since '83....it's all musical masterbation now. There are no more leads w/ feeling anymore....

it's all....'Let's see how many notes i can fit into this 14 second break....I think Vinnie Vincent had the right idea....'

Nah, there's some great melodic playing on ROR and TBF as well as the last few studio albums also. Not to the degree of his earlier stuff, though.

Brywool, I don't really see the resemblance. Sorry. I don't have Late Night, but if you say it's even better than Beyond the Thunder, I will get it and try it.
