OT: Weatherbug

If any of you use this program, there is a way to get Weatherbug Plus (ad free) for free.

You'll have to join a marketing program called ZoomPanel. You'll have to complete a survey, and they'll send you an activation code to enter into Weatherbug that will make it Weatherbug Plus, with no ads. I did this, and it's much better.

Here's the link to Zoom Panel. There are others besides Zoom Panel, but Zoom Panel is the only one I found on there that is actually free.

Somehow I found Weatherbug somewhere else for free for my PPC without signing up for anything else. If I remember where, I'll let you know. Works fine.

I'm gonna D/L windows 7 when I get home. They say it's closer to xp than Vista so I'll give the BETA a try. Apparently they fixed the servers and there is no limit on how many people can try it.

Accuweather's program is much better plus we had a problem with spyware being installed with users who had Weatherbug installed on their system.

Weatherbug takes up alot of computer resources to continually run itself. You're better off logging on to a weather website and checking it when you want rather than have a program continually running

I'll be putting it on my old Dell P4, 3.0 GHz. I just use that for browsing so I can screw it up with out having issues. The system requirements aren't too steep. I don't want any hassle on my main PC, so no on the duelboot.

1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
1 GB of system memory
16 GB of available disk space

I just have it on my BlackBerry. Seems to run quite smoothly with no lagging issues. I actually didn't install it. It was simply one of the applications on there.

I'm running this on windows 7 right now. Nice so far, everything works. Clean install took about 45 minutes, The specs on this pc, Pentium 4 with a gig of ram. Sound and video built into the motherboard. No slow down or anything yet. Works just like XP.

This Dell I'm testing on is about 4 years old but sound video and usb ports all work fine without me installing any drivers and Avast loaded no problem. The Beta should be good through August so I'll just leave it until then.
