My first concert was in 2004 when I was 13. It was Eddie Money and Starship at a casino...an interesting start to my concert experience. I couldn't handle the noise very well, but I did enjoy Mickey Thomas quite a bit. Didn't care for Eddie's performance, but then again I was 13 and I wasn't familiar with any of his material outside of a couple songs.

Elton John, 1972, Vancouver, Goodbye Yellowbrick Road Tour, Opened with Candle in the Wind into Funeral For a Friend,
totally blacked out stadium, with these little balls lighting up. which were attached to him on long wires. I was 13, and by myself, first time anything like that, (I was so straight and innocent).......and it blew my friggen mind. Was to be the 1st of 11 tours, up till 1986.

My first was also The Beach Boys - McMahon Stadium, Calgary - sometime in the mid/late-seventies. Young teenager on my first concert date (and I think that was my first concert beer too :D )

Rod Stewart in early '80s. Great concert. Loved him and his look. My boyfriend kept telling me he was gay. I said, no, just confident in his sexuality.

LLL wrote:From the "Your Journey" thread, it's obvious some of us here have been listening to Journey for decades, but they might not have necessarily been your first concert. So what was the first band you ever saw live and do you still have that vintage concert tee?

My first concert was the Doobie Brothers in the late 70s and the concert tee is in a box around here somewhere. I liked them alot until that cheesy guest spot they did on "What's Happening" where Rerun sneaks the tape recorder into their concert and gets busted. (about at the 3:30 mark in this clip)

Journey - 1981

Never walked out of a concert.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

June 6th, 1986, A-ha. Yeah, I know, sad that I still remember the date: the ticket stub is in a folder full of all the clippings I kept of that band. It was my 14th birthday present from my mother, and was the 6th row. Didn't get a t-shirt, but I do still have the programme.

Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
