OT- Is There a Magic Age Where Men Finally Grow Up

Postby scarygirl » Sun Feb 01, 2009 12:43 pm

Of course this sentiment could also apply to women, but in this instance, let's play the men for a moment. For some reason, I have this perfect knack for attracting what seems to be perfectly normal men only to have them a month or so in turn into player BEASTS! Are some men players for life? Is there an age where that part is finally over and I should make that my new target? I'm telling you, immobile 70 somethings are looking pretty damn good to me right now. Provided of course they'll let me borrow their old man handicap parking tag and senior citizens discount.

Is there an age where that part is finally over and I should make that my new target?

I'm growing older but not up
My metabolic rate is pleasantly stuck
Let those winds of time blow over my head
I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead

First month we went out everything was great. Second month he started pulling away. I wouldn't hear from him for days at a time. The dates gave way to "hanging out." The last straw has been the last three weekends where upon after a Friday out with the boys he'd call after midnight, asking if I were awake and if he could come over. I kind of got the picture then. (I let the phone/text go to mail. Didn't give him the satisfaction)

It makes me sad because I've known him for a while and have had a crush for as long.

Sorry to hear 'bout that Scary. When he starts "pulling away", cut the cord on'em yourself.

The hanging out isn't so bad if the intentions are clear but regressing from hot & heavy to hanging out is odd.

The calling after midnight is just crap. Prolly drunk by then anyway.

You're better off its over now while you can make a clean break. No strings attached.

Didn't mean that to be snarky & sorry you are sad. Just meant that people pretty much are who they are & that sometimes working on understanding your own stuff and getting clear about what is and isn't for you can be more productive than spending energy being unhappy about others not being who/what you want them to be.

Exactly, Doctor. And once that happens you will often find you open yourself up for the potential real thing. Not to mention healthy happiness. 8)

I'm not sure that a guy being a "player" really has much to do with "growing up". Just because a guy doesn't believe in monogamy and enjoys the company of more than one woman doesn't mean that he is immature. Some guys have their lives VERY together and simply don't want to be tied down to one woman. Just one man's perspective.
