I gave it a listen. Not bad. I can hear all the words. I'd buy it if it came out on CD. Don't buy stuff over the internet unless I can send a money order for it.

Maybe I'm nuts but I can totally hear Perry singing this song.

This is what is funny about the argument about how the band wants to work and Perry doesn't. Then it surfaces that Perry was remastering discs or putting together the Houston DVD or singing backup or being a creative music advisor for a movie. Sounds like the guy has been working even though he probably doesn't need the cash so why kill himself touring or running around all over the place.

I can hear Perry doing this too. Maybe this song is an old Perry or Journey demo? And didn't Steve Lukather say in the past year or so that he heard Perry sing, or was still sounding good, etc? Maybe Perry just sang some of this song in the studio as direction?

Pretty cool song...probably more pop than rock. Could be a tv show theme song. It's got that Rembrandts' feel (Friends), and maybe a little Cheap Trick (That 70s Show) too.

I saw Steve Lukather perform the other nght in the UK. He spoke of how Perry 'Produced the vocals' for Trev's new song. He added, 'He's a neighbour of mine an a really nice guy, don't listen to any of the shit that is out there about im. Its not true'.

Well I was assuming the whole Perry versus Neal and Jon thing, but Isn't Luke friends with Neal?

Yes, and so are their kids.

Luke and Neal are quite similar in many respects ... both legendary guitarists. Both got their start playing as teenagers in high school for professional acts on the charts. both come from technically proficient yet critically attacked bands. Both have had issues with lead singers.

And unlike other bands, many fans of Toto and Journey are as into seeing "the guitarist" on stage as they are the "singer". I'd argue this is more the case with Toto than Journey.

That's a WELL crafted pop song, for sure. Contemporary sounding for sure. It was well-arranged and well-performed. I'll buy his record

Also, both of them are the only members of their respected bands to play every gig under the band's name.

Trev definitely has shades of his dad's axe work that I can here in his music, not the usual speed playing that young groups tend to do with their guitar work. His sound mix was nonexistent though, with the instruments drowning out the vocals during some of his songs. I thought it might be the club acoustics but when Marcy Playground came on, they sounded fantasic, soundwise.
The guitar work is good, the vocals need work. Overall, Trev has a lot of potential.

Hmmmmmmmm....

I totally agree with the tv show theme song & Friends is the one that also came to my mind.

Trev is young, good looking & comes from a great musical family.
He's got a great start & I'm sure there are great things ahead for him...

So true Gunbot, JC even said it in an interview, "why should Steve have to come back and sing or do anything?" "He has his legacy already there for him, he doesn't have to do a thing." I can see SP singing it too. Awesome time the other night by the way.

You know it's funny...I've mentioned Trev in here several times since last year, and LOVE his songs. I bought 7 of his tunes through Itunes, and can't wait to get more. When I saw his post on Myspace, I got all excited thinking it would be some cool Perry sounding song, but honestly...It's my least favorite song he's done. Maybe he should fire Perry and go back to his original vocal producer!  Not just the vocals, but the song just doesn't hold up when compared to his other awesome songs.

He's going to have a great musical future if he keeps it up. He's got a lot of talent.

Gonna have to agree, his first batch of songs produced by Tommy ____(can't recall his name) have been his strongest effort. His producer really captured that Mutt Lange sound.

Hey it's me...I loved being there the other night. We just have to go up there and see Trev again. He was so phenomenal and JSS was a very nice guy too. Trev, yes does look like mini version of Tommy Shaw indeed. Trev is a real sweetheart. I couldn't get over how tall JSS was. Give me a call when you can. I spoke to Lorrie again, she is a riot. She is still fuming over that guy at the hotel that yelled at us. Too bad about him, if he was really that tired, he wouldn't have heard us. I can't stand peeps like that. And I do agree with you on the meeting part. It was so a pleasure meeting the MR peeps. Thanks guys.
