This is what is funny about the argument about how the band wants to work and Perry doesn't. Then it surfaces that Perry was remastering discs or putting together the Houston DVD or singing backup or being a creative music advisor for a movie. Sounds like the guy has been working even though he probably doesn't need the cash so why kill himself touring or running around all over the place.

Yes, and so are their kids.
Luke and Neal are quite similar in many respects ... both legendary guitarists. Both got their start playing as teenagers in high school for professional acts on the charts. both come from technically proficient yet critically attacked bands. Both have had issues with lead singers.
And unlike other bands, many fans of Toto and Journey are as into seeing "the guitarist" on stage as they are the "singer". I'd argue this is more the case with Toto than Journey.

I can hear Perry doing this too. Maybe this song is an old Perry or Journey demo? And didn't Steve Lukather say in the past year or so that he heard Perry sing, or was still sounding good, etc? Maybe Perry just sang some of this song in the studio as direction?
Pretty cool song...probably more pop than rock. Could be a tv show theme song. It's got that Rembrandts' feel (Friends), and maybe a little Cheap Trick (That 70s Show) too.
later~

When I saw his post on Myspace, I got all excited thinking it would be some cool Perry sounding song, but honestly...It's my least favorite song he's done. Maybe he should fire Perry and go back to his original vocal producer!![]()
Not just the vocals, but the song just doesn't hold up when compared to his other awesome songs.
He's going to have a great musical future if he keeps it up. He's got a lot of talent.

Gonna have to agree, his first batch of songs produced by Tommy ____(can't recall his name) have been his strongest effort. His producer really captured that Mutt Lange sound.

Yup. He did an amazing job on them. I need to look him up when I get my stuff into the studio. A good producer can make all the difference in the world!
