So when will the band play the US proper on tour?

Very cool that Journey are getting around to places they haven't before, and I am not worried about a summer tour here. But it does look like the scheduling is going to get difficult for the band and that can of course have a drastic affect on their lead vocalist.

I think the U.S. dates will be pretty limited this year, no more than 40 shows tops. I think if they stay away from the three in row routine of scheduling dates, their current vocalist should be alright.

Cool! Did they ever play in France before? For some reason I have never imagined Rock-n-Roll in France, let alone there being many Journey fans...do they play on the radio much? Never been to France, except to the airport to change planes.

Cain said on his website that they would kick off their US tour at Rockfest in Cadott WI in mid-July.

Don't worry, there's also a high percentage of Pinoys in France and neighboring places so I'm sure they will help them rock the house, it will also a big treat for them to see Journey over there.

Absulutely, i can magined them rocking the place like they never did before, truth is i already emailed my closed friends and tell them the news and they're like OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!, What took you so long to tell us this news ,we've been waiting for Journey to perform here for ages, so this is probably the once in a life time oppurtunity that they don't wanna missed. and i'm so happy for them though and for Journey too that they have a chance now to perform in any place they never did before.

Journey did a show in France exactly 30 years ago on march 19th 1979 with Pat Travers. They never come back, and mostly they only tour in the US during the 80's, maybe Japan but I don't know.

France is opened to all kind of culture, so of course most of the French people like RnR! If bands, like AC/DC, U2, Iron Maiden... can do Stadium of 80.000 people and more in France it's because there is a large public who like that kind of music!

But on radio, we have a law to protect our own language and radios have to perform half of the songs in French. So imagine that actually, without a major label behind it to do promotion, a band like Journey in France has no luck to be aired on Radio on the last half!

Do we have rockers in France? Yes of course, we've got a kind of 'cannibal' named Johnny Hallyday (nearly 66 years old) who is, for most of the French, Mr Rock n Roll.
Johnny started his career in the 60's and he is always here. For the little story, in the early 70's he had a guitar player named Mick Jones who will create Foreigner after he left him.
I'm not a very big fan, I respect him. I've seen him live one time and he is a real performer.
He sold over 100 Millions of copies during his 50 years career.
He is also an actor and he is actually directed by Johnnie To, a great Hong Kong director.(for the Journey fan of Hong Kong  )

Johnny's got a son in the music business, David and for all the Aor fans, you've got to buy his first two CDs 'True Cool' and 'Rock n'Heart'. I remember that in the early 90's Mark Ashton of MTM asked me to send him a Vynil of 'Rock n'Heart' if I remember well. If he's reading this forum! I thank him for the Worrall CD in exchange! :D

After the 'Cannibal' Johnny, there are some French Rock n' Roll bands that I like very much. The biggest are Telephone(they split in the 90's) and Trust, but due to songs performed in French, they never cross the channel or the Atlantic.
If you play Guitar Hero, on the last one (World Tour), you've got a song of Trust : 'Antisocial'.

I come back with Journey in France... 8)

That's so cool that you saved your ticket from back then!

All my memorabilia from back in the day is gone ... too young and stupid to save stuff that I now wish I had.

Journey in Paris; how exciting.

I wish someone would post their ENTIRE tour schedule so that people could make travel plans. HINT, HINT. :D

We need another Vegas or Cleveland this year, ladies. Not necessarily in those locales, but Journey needs to hurry up with this. Don't they know it's the first day of spring already?? We need plans!!
