ROR PHILADELPHIA CONCERT?

Postby PianoMan1986 » Tue Apr 28, 2009 4:31 pm

I was just surfin' around YouTube and came across this -- the image during the video doesn't make sense since at the bottom it mentions "I Can See It In Your Eyes"... anyone come across this before or know anything about it?

It's just a soundboard recording from the show at the Spectrum. The guy downloaded it from guitars 101.

Don't mind the video, it's just a bootleg cover

Yeah, as Gunbot has already said, its just a boot album cover for that specific show. They (Rubicon Reproductions) included 'I can see it in your eyes' as a bonus track for that cd, as it was only available on the jap release of 'Trial by fire' at that time.

Since we're on the subject, here's a couple videos I ran across today that I had never seen from that tour. The audio is popular, but I had never seen the video.

I HATE the ROR tour. Hate it !!! The warp speed tempo, Smitty and Ross being painfully absent, the clothes and last but not least....

THAT FUCKING KEYTAR !!! Keep Cain behind the keyboards and not doing some goofy nerd dance. Geesh.

I cant believe that he survived the tour. The neon nightmare paint splattered trench coat he wore looks as if it should have given him cancer. If I would have been one of his security people I would have attacked it because it scares me ! I bet it is flame retardant.

The "Only the Young" video is from the Fresno, CA ROR show. Somewhere out there, probably in Sony's vault is the rest of the full concert. Would love to see an ROR full concert released.

Me too - but would love to see the Mt Aire gig released - i think it would be better than the Houston show as so many great songs to add from Frontiers and ROR.

I would love to own a ROR DVD too.
I like all the songs on that album. It's of it's time. Great poppy songs.

I do hate that trench coat Cain wore though and that keytar is horrible.

It might have been Neal's idea. Jan Hammer used to use one too. Geoof Downes in Asia STILL uses one - and he looked kinda old when he was young - imagine how it looks now......

Wasn't it an 80's fad?

Nik Kershaw played one, and I think the bloke in Level 42 might have too.

I hate the things. I think they belong on the scrap heap with all of those bloody stylophones Rolf Harris was trying to sell.

YUK.

IF they released a DVD of this tour I would not purchase it. The Rollie era needs more exposure. The Cain period is well documented and while the songs on the album are great there isnt a video representation that matches the quality of the music. Some truly great music from 77-80 that needs a DVD and surround mix badly.. Houston 79 or 80... I would just poop tie dye for that....

They should release DVD's of ALL of them.
Then we'd all be happy.

They could film me smashing up all the keytars and stylophones as an extra feature, too.

I would have rather seen the ROR concert released that the houston concert. Like Gordon said the ROR tour covered all of the 80s hits from infinity to raised on radio. Plus the stage setup and lighting was really cool too.

Journey should do what many other bands like Rush, Def Leppard, release all of their major tours on dvd as a dvd box set. That would be awesome! They could release an infinity/departure/evolution tour, escape, frontiers, and ROR.

I don't know how feasible that is now that they are not associated with Sony anymore.

Have Perry do it, heck he already released two Journey dvds. Im sure he can pull some strings and get those old concerts out of the vaults. Unfortunetly I think he's done with releasing Journey dvds.

No I dont think so either. I think Steve had enough of remastering and producing Journey dvds. If by chance he got this urge to release another one, its gotta be an ROR one.
