Cool. I heard it at the Mall the other day. I was like... 'hey, that's Journey!'. Then they played Taylor Hicks "Do I Make You Proud" and it ruined my elation...
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

What I like to see is that Journey is doing better than Kelly Clarkson on the AC Chart!

Seeing how Kelly Clarkston has a former number one song at #18 and another release at #26 on the Hot 100 Chart, that is pretty much a hollow victory, isn't it?

I don't mind Clarkson. I liked her more when she stuck to her guns rather than succumbed to record company pressure. Hicks is a joke.

To be a classic rock band, which many consider a dinosaur...its pretty cool to see them ahead of Kelly Clarkston who has been a hit machine in popular music today. Kelly Clarkston definetly has more mainstream success with the music today.

The keyword being Rock. You are talking about the A/C charts. By the way Kelly is #4 on the Adult Top 40 tracks chart. Another chart that is insignificant. There are too many charts. The only one that matters is the Hot 100. How can you measure the rest against each other. A/C tracks vs Adult Top tracks vs A/C re-currents, what's the difference between all these charts? It's like giving every kid in school a blue ribbon even if they come in last.

I'm not picking on you or downplaying Journeys achievements, but come on. It's a freaking chart made for Barry Manilow and Olivia Newton John. Is Journey the new Air Supply now?

No, on her second album, the label told her they didn't like it. She wanted it released anyway. They did release it, but it didn't sell well. I think the reason that it didn't sell well was because the label didn't promote it because they didn't like it. There were some good songs there. Hmmm.... sounds like "Arrival".

The charts are all moot. Who cares if so and so is selling more than so and so if music isn't selling at all like it used to?

Because of file sharing the record industry is dead.

The only real money to be made today is from touring.

Although I find it amazing that Journey managed to move a million copies of Revelation in this market (or lack there of)

You're right about that, even arresting the founders of Pirate Bay didn't slow down torrent sites one iota. Better to give the albums away as free publicity for the tours and make your money back on the road.

Well I dont really agree with that totally. Yeah I admit its sad that Journey cant get a song on the rock charts or billboard, but its a WAY different music scene today. Even the mighty Eagles admitted that most of their songs now only chart on the ac charts now due to the change in the music and the music industry. So for this day in age to just be able to chart on anything, I would be happy and thankful for. This is a band that has been struggling for years since perry left, and to now have 2 top 40 hits on the ac charts...I would consider that a success.

Whether we like it or not the AC charts are the new avenue for most classic rock bands to chart, which is really weird.

Let's not forget that the band had a Top 40 A/C hit with Steve Augeri also. That tends to get over looked for some reason.

File sharing did not kill the music business...the business killed the music. Why would anyone buy 12 songs that suck to get 1 song they like for $19 if they don't have to. We have been screwed for years. Now their screwed...seems fair. The only problem is finding a way to get the artist paiod. And if the labels had recognized that digital media and downloads were not gonna go away, they could have developed a system to capitalize on the new era instead of being decimated by it due to their stubborness to remain in the 20th century.

Amazingly, the labels still find away to charge a packaging and distribution fee on the digital downloads, cutting into the royalties of the Artists. It's like the labels don't want to be saved, they just keep trying to squeeze blood out of turnips.

Exactly. They created the mess and then they tried to pretend it would just go away. And they don't think anyone is going to complain about paying the same price between digital and physical...
